    Possum on the half shell.

They're not very tasty unless you par boil them first.

I don't get to see a lot of different moose. Or any for that matter. Post them please.

We have 3 different hawks that hang out here but haven't been able to snag any pictures.

I do have some buzzard pictures that I'll try to find.

Pretty sure that hawk I posted is the one who messed up a big stone in my pond.
Even though we are in the desert, we have a lot of pine trees, so every year I get to see red tails fledge from this one tree, usually the Harris seem to get down in the eucalyptus trees around here.

I have quite a few moose pics. I’ll try to get to it this evening. One year we had a young bull coming in the yard. He started bedding down outside my window. Came back every day one winter. He actually ate our Halloween pumpkin decorations, and a birthday cake that was cooling off on a grill outside.

    Different days.

@Dr Doobie, don’t you have some moose pics on your phone?

Hawks are pretty cool unless you have chickens. I love to see them snag birds and squirrels. They miss most of the time so it's always exciting when they get something.

Oh for sure! I always watch out when I let the chickens out at the school.
I’ve gotten to see some pretty cool hunting techniques at dawn, I felt like David Attenborough…….

From a distance it’s great! Up close can be very dangerous.

This cow moose decided I wasn’t going any further up the road on my quad. Any time I got closer, she’d turn to face me, ears flattened.

After a few tries, I turned around and went elsewhere for a while. I was supposed to meet up with my hunting buddy past where she was, but sometimes plans have to change.

When my brother sees bears on his quad, he keeps it in second and revs it up to scare them away. Does that work for moose too?

Not on this one. I even turned around so the exhaust was facing her way, and launched with a mitt full of throttle to try to be more obnoxious. Came back around the corner to the same death stare.

Not my picture, but black bears are all around here. Kind of like dogs, but less friendly. This was from a local news outlet.. Neighborhood right next to the Dismal Swamp. The swamp was there a long time before the neighborhood. The bears just took a nap and left after sunset.
