Got one and ordered the Curt on Amazon, thanks OP! Did some research and the cheap ones just end up looking cheap especially when they start to fail.

I watched these vids which answered all my questions, and a CDN Auto parts store discount this weekend sealed the deal!

After install, gotta be an idiot to rear end me now.

Saw the same video that @JoshuaA posted and was going that route. But I like not having to splice any wires, thanks @Storm

Looks even better on a white truck.

@Storm did you use the unconnected black wire in the quick connect harness?

No, the black wire on the harness you will not use. Just the white wire for reverse.

Don’t want to assume, which wire in the bunch I exposed is the white from the Blade tapped into for the reverse?
    Cheers

Are you hard wiring it to your truck or did you purchase the quick connect harness? I did not have to open up any wire looms to tap into any wires. There is a white wire on the light bar itself and a white wire coming off of the harness.

Ok I thought you were using the Putco harness. You're correct, you will need to tap into the reverse. I do not want to mislead you as I am not exactly certain which white wire you would have to tap in to. Hopefully someone on here could provide some insight...

Just look at the back of the 7-pin trailer connector. The one in the middle is the reverse. That's how I figured out which was which.

Thanks! This worked great, I posi-tapped into the harness itself, white in the middle, easy! You're right Storm, the reverse is BRIGHT, glad I didn't skip it.

Day or night, people seem to stay further back, awesome!

At one time I wasn't either, especially that dotted diode look. Then I happened to see it in person following a RAM the other day, it looked like it was OEM, I knew I wasn't returning it.
A super bright clean solid light and the safety factor sold me. Not for everyone of course.

Guys I'm trying to hardwire an Opt7 led on the rear and having trouble noting the color code on the 7pin connector, the pics you guys posted above call out a brown wire. Does your harness match the pics ? My harness consist of red, green, black +,pink, blue, white -, yellow(in center)

Did you buy an additional easy connect harness or are you referring to the Opt7 harness and you’re splicing? To be honest I didn’t look at any colors except the white reverse wire because the rest is plug and play using the Curt 55384. If you haven’t figured it out, I can take a look later/early evening when I’m home.

No I didnt buy the curt harness ( actually wasnt aware before reading these post it was available) it got late late night so I pulled the splice off and temporarily plugged into the 4pin on the bumper next to the liscense plate. I am having no luck with finding the wiring diagram for the 2018 harness. If you find anything please let me know

Thanks. The harness will be the option if I cannot get any clarification on the color code going into the 7pin. Thanks again

If you do don't mind asking you. How taillights holding so far and are they plug and play without any modification? Also what type of tails are that? Brand??

My led taillights are Recon with smoked lenses. They’ve been great! I’ve had them for 1 1/2 years. They are direct plug and play. Does that answer your questions?

Here is the website. All though you will find better prices from other vendors. They offer smoked, clear & red taillights. They also have the third brake light but it’s a pain to replace.

Thanks a lot notice that comes with two dark options, are yours dark or smoked? Sorry to everyone that I jumped into this thread. Sorry

The harness should you choose to go that route will give you the ability to plug the 4 pin into the harness which in turn will plug into the 7 pin. I am not exactly sure of the color codes on the 7 pin. But for the basics, the 4 pin will give you the same functionality. Although you will still need to tap into white for the reverse. The Putco harness gives you a white wire on the harness which taps out of the 7 pin.
