This summer while navigating about 40 miles of old FS roads in MT and ID, I lost one of the shackles I had on the front bumper - there was apparently enough vibration to cause the standard pin to back out and that's the end of it.

So I decided to replace them with something that should be a bit more "vibration proof":

First, I grabbed a couple of Crosby 3/4" S-2130 bolt type bow shackles (Crosby part number 1019524). These ones are all red, and they use a cotter pin to retain the nut.

Then I picked up some 3/16" linch pins to use in place of the cotter pins.

So I replaced the two on the front bumper and the one on the Agency 6 rear hitch mount, and then put the two screw-pin shackles in the tool box under the rear seat.

Planning anything different for mud flaps or flares with the added poke when using the spacers?

    Hey Casey,

Figured I would ask you... Do you know how and where I would tap into the rear camera wiring if I am going to replace and relocate my rear camera to my bed rack as my spare tire swingout blocks the camera.

    Thanks in Advance

    Sid

Sure thing, and actually relatively easy.
Under the truck just before the tailgate is a junction connector just for the camera. It’s clustered up there attached to the frame with the one that goes to the rear bumper. The tailgate camera harness from that connector then passes through a rectangular “grommet” to the rear side of the bed and up into the bottom of the tailgate - it’s set up that way so that it can be disconnected if you have to remove the tailgate ever.

SO, if you are looking to reuse the factory camera and just relocate it, you could disconnect that connector, fish the harness and camera out of the tailgate, then cut and extend the wires in the factory harness and route it from the connector junction up through the rear brakelight area and out the stake pocket to the bed rack…

    Thanks Casey,

Yeah I am going to get an aditional camera to run up to the rack. That way if needed just disconnect and connect which ever cam I want to use.

Then I can dig up the details you need for a new connector and pins to matter up with the existing. Know that the factory camera is a different voltage than a lot of aftermarket ones…I don’t recall exact details but you’ll want to make sure you get one that works on the factory circuitry (basically an oem replacement)
