Any first-year vehicles with zero issues lately... Are car companies using the buying public as Beta testers?

True, but it’s a loaner you’re forced into due to their product? What does a pet owner do? Not take pets to the vet? Dog park? Camping trip already planned? And how long? What’s the ETA? I dunno, I’d say the impact of this issue should fall on the dealerships/auto manufacturer.

They’re not forced into loaning you a vehicle that may come back with pet hair and dander, a customer is being forced into taking a vehicle that they didn’t want, one less valuable than the one they payed for, and now we have to expect a customer to also not live their lives? It’s not optimal, but the customer didn’t cause this. If a dealer is out due to pets in a vehicle, then Toyota should reimburse. Seems very simple to me to put the responsibility on the responsible party.

Im with you man, this isn't a rental, its a loaned since their shitbox broke with hardly any miles.

load up the dog and do what you do, you can still be respectful of their vehicle at the same time too. (put a sheet down, etc).

You should drive to Florida while you wait. Key West is really nice this time of year. Then take your loaner 4Runner back to the dealer with 7,000 more miles on it.

So do we think Toyota is fixing whatever is causing the turbo issue (wastegate) or otherwise on units being built going forward?

    they better…

can you imagine the damage to the brand if this becomes an ongoing issue?

Toyota takes this shit pretty seriously in the long run, at least they used too. We shall see here
