I always enjoy seeing Tundras parked in front of the Coronado ACF.

In case it hasn't been said yet...Black Trucks Matter

Never had swirls for a long time on my 2011, just from using the two bucket method. Maybe not until the past two years or so is when I started to notice some. But that's from negligence and being bummed that I don't have the garage space to do a full detail.

32B7E4B9-4E71-4CC6-A575-8F0DA03CD5C6.jpg Just noticed this today. I knocked my trash can over backing out the driveway the other day. I didn’t think that contact would chip the paint down to the bare metal. I’ve owned Toyota all my life and this is the softest paint I’ve ever experienced on a Toyota. And my Tundra loving mentality tells me I would still go and buy another black Tundra in the future. It hurt a little when I saw it, but I’m over it now.
Black is so fast. Fast at getting dirty, scratches, chips, and looks and comments when it’s clean. I love it

It almost did explode. But it’s a truck after all and I just take it as my first scar on the truck.

2 bucket wash method with wash grit grills. Lots of water to pre-rinse and wash. Soft cotton cloths to wash and dry and if any cloth or wash mitt touches the ground don’t use it unless it is washed out and rinsed very well.

I regretted buying a black car once. I’m far too cheap and lazy to keep one in clean form. Plus, the town I live in is never clean and mostly windy. My vehicles are covered in dust after one day of parking.
Don’t get me wrong I LOVE a nice black vehicle when clean. I’m just not willing to do it.
    Peace.

That’s a good attitude. A nurse who said she worked 80 hours last week bumped my rear bumper on the highway in a traffic slowdown last Friday. Puhed the bumper forward on one side an inch or so and scraped the plastic cover. I was F—— for a second, then meh, it happens.

What’s the car with the fins in the reflection?

Five of my family's last six vehicles were black. My wife broke it up with a MGM 4Runner. I have a black Tacoma and Tundra. I doubt I'll own anything but a black truck.

I have a lot of respect for you guys. I've been considering adding a Porsche 911 and they look so good in black. I'm a car guy, but don't necessarily enjoy cleaning cars. I am careful though and have good cleaning products including a power washer.

However, I usually wash my cars once every 2-3 weeks, because I rotate between 4 cars. The problem with black, on top of being impossible to keep clean, is that I live in South Carolina. It's Oct 3rd and it's going to be a high of 98F today. It would be brutal!

I drove black trucks from 1989-2008, undeniably the best looking color when its clean. I found I had about a week or less to enjoy it until dust n stuff really started to show:crapstorm:. Purchased Silver Sky Tundra in 2008 and another in 2018. I've washed my 18 once in the last year, it looks great lol. I may get a picture in the dealer lot beside a new one. Life, work, kids, hobbies blah blah blah all get in the way of a black truck. Go SSM and help conserve water and save the planet:D

I had a white Cadillac and the paint was so easy to maintain i though "Why not on my tundra" man this white tundra is difficult to manage.

With that being said - I've had a Black SAAB 9000, and black VW Scirroco; My ex wife had a black dodge Shadow (we were in our early 20's don't laugh); my current wife had a black Ford Prod and I currently own a Black Honda Crosstour. I have no challenges with a black vehicle, but like Pudge I'm very careful how I clean them, and do it regularly.

I love a black vehicle and will do so again - however that white Infinity QX 60 3.5 is calling my name

I have a black 2017 SR5. It is rather annoying to keep it clean and scratch free. I bought a scratch kit from automotivetouchup.com. I ordered the 2 oz bottle of 202 Black for large scratches and the 202 Paint pen for the smaller ones. I also got 1 pen of Gloss Clearcoat to put over the touch up. Worth the money.

I absolutely will never buy another white vehicle!!! It’s a dull looking color that demands lots of attention to be kept clean. But, there’s nothing much you can do to make it look exceptionally shiny. White vehicles are for fleet service vehicles and for other types of businesses. :).

Black vehicles are so beautiful, that even the dead wants to go out in style in a black vehicle :)

I've owned one black vehicle and I vowed to never own another one again. Impossible to keep clean and they show scratches and swirl marks like none other. Silver/white for me

We had some gorgeous sunshine here this morning in SoCal, so I took her out of the garage for a detail. Perfectly shiny for a brief moment in time, swirl marks, paint chips and all! Hood was already covered in dust by the time I finished the rear .:D

Someday I'd like to do the 18+ black LED headlights. I'd also like a lower air dam, do they make those for our trucks? The Super Duty's at work have them and they really look great.

This post reminded me..........I'm looking for a certain GIF, but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe some of the detailing guys remember it or know where I can find it.
It shows a guy walking by pushing a shop vacuum, I think he is walking out of a garage. The picture is perfectly clear. The camera pulls back and it was recording off the reflection of a black car door.
    Sorry about the thread jack.
