All the 05-06 guys bragging about having xyz more horsepower but then have secondary air injection and no free frame replacement. I think the older trucks are a better tradeoff unless you need to tow 24/7.

You need a new bed...Just keep asking around and eventually you will find someone who buys them from rust free areas and brings them up to your area for resale! That is what I did and then had the auto body guys do their magic and top it off with fresh paint and a spray in bed liner! 20211023_113559.jpg

Bed liner is all fun and games until water finds a way to get under it. Then this happens: https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...-gen-tundra-today.2558/page-1205#post-2562971

Owner of that truck confirms, rust started under the spray-in bedliner, and I've seen the same dozens of times before on other people's trucks. It's only a matter of time.

Like powdercoat, most bedliner is just that: A coating. It doesn't create a impervious bond with the metal. You're basically at the mercy of the person applying and whether they do everything possible to ensure, for the rest of its life, it never gets thin enough to let water inside.

I will say, you've got just about the nicest damn bed I've ever seen for a 1st gen! Welcome to the forum!

It's true that nothing lasts forever, but I haul a lot of brush and junk in the back of my truck and I think the bed liner will give me plenty of miles, and for now I get plenty of great comments. Only time will tell if it can withstand the test of time.

Yeah, they are life time recalls since it was a safety concern.

Drop in bedliners shouldn't be made anymore. Worst thing ever for a truck. Dealership should be held responsible for all repairs, if they sold new trucks with them installed.

Ik it’s an old thread, but did you ever happen to see if it worked? I’ve got the same problem with mine and was wondering
