Hey guys I have read through alot of these pages. I need to reset my alcohol density on my 2017 tundra flex fuel. I bought the creamer elite T for toyota. I updated it and read the alcohol density. It is 55%.I went back and did the relearn. I put 3 gallons of fuel in it as I did it at the fuel pump. I drove for about 15mins and checked it. It still shows 55%. I read someone had issues because of a idatalink maestro. I have a maestro in mine. It was a plug n play syatem. I also have the remote start x. I thought the maestro would keep me from even seeing any info. So do I need to disconnect the maestro? What makes me scratch my head is. The book for the c reader says by default no reset software is included in this tool. User needs to subscribe to it. I never read anyone say they needed to subscribe to anything to have this work. I don't want to go through the whole process of removing the maestro for this tool not to work anyhow. I went to the "mall" I don't see anything that says toyota ot tundra

I think I figured it out. I had to back out a couple pages and I remembered someone saying special function so I went to it. I found relearn alcohol density on that list to. I ran it and a pop up came up saying do the driving test and recheck alcohol density and long ft. Will update after I do the driving part.

Your head unit should have a way to shut off the obd2 and that’ll stop the comms between maestro and vehicle.

My truck had a slow start up. Checked battery voltage 12.5 with engine off. 13.5 engine on. Plugged this in last night (engine off), saw my voltage drop from 12.5 to 11.5, now my battery is dead. This drains a lot of power! Lol someone posted on here to have the engine on while plugged in. Good luck! I’ll reset density on my day off and report back.

Post here if you have trouble once it arrives. Mine was stuck on European mode and took some messing with settings to get working correctly.

Will do. I was saving up for the D7 but the truck isnt starting any better these days and I am using it more than I expected, so I figured I should stop trying to find someone local to pay and just get the tool. Plus we have toyos in the family so it wont go to waste... plus I had some credits so it was $89 with the coupon... now it just needs to work lol

Update on the CReader Elite x431… it was able to read the alcohol level but I couldn’t find a place to reset. Found out my alcohol level was 0. I will return this and buy one that can reset in the future.

That one is the bidirectional scanner. You can reset with it.

Here's the procedure that I sent to my son for his 2015. I don't have a FFuel, so I couldn't do everything on mine. But give it a try.

Here are the pics I took that are "missing" from your PDF. Only issue so far was I didn't look to see how bad it was before I hit the clear button.

So I didn't see how bad it was but I hit the clear button. I don't have the moment to drive it right now but I started it anyway. Holy cow, back to day 1 if not better. Fired right up and the area doesn't smell like fuel anymore.

We will see what happens later when I fire it up again and take her out.

Confirmed it has been reset. Confirmed I have no idea what it was before but she is starting better and running as expected.

    Very happy with the purchase.

    Update:
The truck ran for two days and then broke down in the parking lot. I had the scanner with me. I tried resetting again three times but it wont start. Had to tow it to the nearest dealership and they diagnosed it to be a faulty pump that needed to be replaced. Got the parts ordered directly and asked dealership to just charge labor and get it replaced. Got my truck from dealership yesterday with new pump installed and everything is working great again.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Original Post:
Got this problem on my 2018 Tundra Limited FFV. Fuel Percentage was stuck at 15%. I could not start my truck.

Got the tool posted in this thread from Amazon:
LAUNCH Creader Elite Bi-Directional OBD2 Scanner for Toyota Lexus, 2025 Full System Diagnostic Scan Tool

Performed Fuel Density Learning Value Reset and the truck started immediately.

Did Post Reset Procedure to Complete Learning of Alcohol Percentage and confirmed Alcohol Fuel Percentage was at 0%.

Thanks for all the help and guidance.

PS: What was interesting is I went back and looked at the Carfax of my truck to see if this specific ECU Reset was performed. It appears that they did perform a similar ECU Software Update but it was for the Rear Oxygen Sensors where the software may not detect a malfunctioning sensor.
The free update to engine ECU was performed on 3/14/2019 at around 57000 miles.
My assumption is that with that reset, they may have zeroed the Alcohol Fuel Percentage.
If so, the issue resurfaced on my tundra around 6 years(3/27/2025) or after adding around 43000miles

Does any one have a link or reference sheet for things you can do with these tools besides reset faults/codes? Are these useful for changing truck features like lighting/horns/TPMS etc?

I doodled around with it and under warnings under customize settings I was able to turn off my seatbelt chimes. Fairly certain I saw where you could change lighting and such like you do with the factory h/u. Has the option to do TPMS program under the Service function menu, whether it works or not is anyone’s guess.

I bought the C Reader a week ago and we completed the alcohol % reset last weekend on my 2018, and my sons 2016. Thanks to Ericsopa and Florida AF for the cheat sheet of the screens! Both trucks reset easily and have been so much better starting up this week. After spending money on the fuel pump a couple of years ago and still dealing with the issue I am so glad that this worked. Neither of us added any fuel after the reset, we went for the drive and the process worked fine. I can't wait to see what else the C Reader can do for the Tundras.
