If you have receipts for all the parts I would fight back on that $2k offer. You should be able to take all the stuff off that doesn’t effect the drivability or function of the truck without it effecting any pay out. It’s no different then taking any personal items out/off the truck.
It’s aways a good idea to lawyer up when involved in a major accident. From what it looks like you got sandwiched and Oregon is a state that looks at the whole picture when it comes to who’s at fault. If everyone involved has insurance there is going to be a lot of who owes who what and that gets messy depending on if everyone has different insurances. A good attorney can help navigate that and get you the most out of it.

Taking a lesson from the OP, and looking into adding addition coverage. Found out possibly my vehicle is worth and I can only add 15% of the vehicles value in extra equipment. So... Might as well. I'm going to end up taking picture of everything, in case I am hit by someone else. Should be a fun weekend of Maintenance and Pictures.

Haha. Just picked it up today to strip it. Still drives great. Seriously thinking about buying it from insurance, ripping the bed off, cutting the back of the frame and building it in to a desert murder machine. Then I remember I have two kids and zero time.

OP - this sucks to see. I was stuck in that shit-storm of traffic today on I-205 bridge today and had a few nerve racking stare-in-the-rear-view-and-pray moments.
