    I was a little shocked at brake cost on the M3/4. All new rotors and pads are 1500.00. I can't say much, since my truck is around 1000.00

    Oh they take a nose dive. That is why a 2020 would be the newest I would buy. Let someone else take that hit.

    I have a 2017 BMW 740. When I bought it, it was the second fastest depreciating car. A Maserati was first. Most were leased and when off lease and off warranty you can pick up a low mileage $100k car for 70% off.
    BMW’s inline turbo 6 is an excellent powerplant and coupled with the ZF tranny makes a great drivetrain. Toyota buys that engine and puts in the Supra.
    You don’t have to be a BMW owner to attend their experience at the Spartanburg factory and can drive quite a variety of their offerings, albeit on a small track and not enough laps to get used to each car, but still fun!

    The M5 is a beast! Here is the lineup of cars we drove at the BMW experience. The reddish coupe is a M5. On the track we drove, mainly stayed in 1st gear and briefly 2nd on the short straight. It was definitely the baddest. All the other cars used 3 gears to get around the track. The green car in the foreground to the right was the instructors. We did the skid pad and a couple hot laps in that. Can’t remember if M4 or 5, but wheeled by a professional driver was humbling….and exhilarating :thumbsup:

    Not yet. He got it home late last night. Sorta got screwed on trade in. He was told he would only have to pay sales tax on the amount owed since he traded in a 2018 Type R. Once he got there they told him he had to pay tax on the asking price. Cost him an extra two grand. He and I discussed whether to sell the car outright or trade it in and because of the lower tax rate it was a wash. I would have walked but I'm stubborn.

    I would have walked too on principle alone.

    My last "out of town" vehicle purchase I had the dealership send me the offer in writing via email. Fastest vehicle purchase I have ever experienced (30 min). Hell, they didn't even push vehicle warranties. The sales manager said "you have 5y/100K mile factory warranty. Spending 1800.00 only gets you two more years. Not worth it."
