The Griots PFM is hands down the best on the market. They’re expensive, but you really just need one and they last years. One of them will easily dry a Tundra and/or a Sequoia, even without blowing them off first.

TRC’s offerings are all pretty top notch as well.

I agree wholeheartedly. I like the 28x20 size for the horizontal panels and the 16x16 for the verticals. It's amazing how much they soak up. Just don't wash them with any other MF towels that have been used for coatings/wax. It'll inhibit their ability to absorb.

I made the mistake of using some nice drying towels to remove paint sealant back in the day....took dozens of washes to get them to absorb water again. D0h!

I've used a couple from CG.....I think you will find that they leave water behind and it takes multiple wipes to get the panel dry. I do not understand why, but towels with a 'twisted loop' design seem to be the most absorbent.

What do you use the compound on? Like what is the purpose of it? Deference between cutting compound and the regular compound? Sorry for all the questions I'm still learning all this stuff

Gets out the scratches. I had to use heavy duty as the decals that were on this vehicle (8 years) left a shadow of the outline. heavy duty is just that- heavy duty when needed. I’m also using a wool pad as it’s more aggressive on cutting.
    so far, so good

I still need finish it all and then engine bay wash

Reg compound wasn’t getting this scratch out, so I swapped to heavy duty compound. Good to go

Should I return the Chemical Guys one? It was an Amazon purchase, so no worries there.

Okay, so I'm not that impressed with the Chemical Guys towel. I use a california water blade (basically a squeegee) for the big sections and then go back over with a towel to get the remainder. I used the CG towel on my Father-in-Law's Tundra (same color as our Sequoia) and the towel was saturated. I was amazed at how little it soaked up before being "full." The one I got was the 25" x 36".

To start with, ditch the water blade. Make the investment in good drying towels. Griots PFMs are (again) my recommendation, but also decent is the Twistress from The Rag Company. They are as much an investment as they are a purchase.

I figured that recommendation would be made. I've been using it for 20+ years and never had a problem with it. No scratches, etc. I'm going to keep using it, but I want something that is great at soaking up the water that it doesn't easily reach.

I went to lowes to wage war on some paper wasps (thought they were yellowjackets) and saw this guy in the clearance section....figured i'd try it out for $8
They also had a box of the trim wipes but there wasn't a clearance tag for it and i used my phone to scan it, and it came back as full price.
Anyone used his before? I've been using Griots 3in1 for a few years now (twice a year...spring and fall) and been pretty happy.

I used this on my wife’s 2018 Lexus after a wash, decon, clay mitt, and wipe. It has held up well for over a year. I also used it earlier on a friends little something or other and he still raves about its water shedding capabilities. A thumbs up from me.

Haven't purchased yet, but seriously thinking about it. Only thing is I won't be polishing anytime soon in this Texas summer.

I elected to leave them at the store. And for the record, that's the 50' uberflex hose.

Quick water leak test and it seems good. Although, my previous was the stock ryobi, so the bar was pretty low.

That wand looks nice, I'll probably end up picking that one as well.
