Sliders For 2023

I'm also a Cruiser guy. I know at least one other Cruiser guy banged up his slees pretty good, and supposedly Slee strengthened them after that. The Bud Builts are probably the strongest, but they aren't on their site yet. I emailed them about availability, and they said they have them now. Followed up to ask about cost and best way to put in an order and never heard back, so I picked up CBI's on a sale and RCI skids. I had Buds on my 12 Cruiser and they were heavy and strong as can be. Abused them and they held up awesome. Have Buds on my 200 Cruiser and they are also impressive. Should be a good option once they are actively selling them...

 

Looks like the CBI covers a bit more with the CMSB. An extra inch would be nice (I know, I know, that's what she said...), but happy with them overall. Install was fairly easy, with a hiccup with one c clamp bent just enough to not allow bolts to grab the nut threads. Some careful work with a BF hammer got it where it needed to be.

Not as robust as the Bud Builts on my 200 Cruiser, but should do the trick. Works well as a step for my kids.

 

I took my truck over to Ryan to measure it, unfortunately there isnt much room to work with on the passenger side to get the sliders to bolt to the frame so he likely isnt going to make them for 3rd gen tundras... this was about a month or two ago though, he may have changed his mind since.

I ended up going with the CBI Sliders - should be here in about a month.

I went down this rabbit hole looking for sliders for my 6.5' bed Crewmax a while ago and just made some with my fabricator. I wanted to get into the bed and the last foot was missing. I find that it looks unfinished with that piece missing. I even though about adding a piece to CBI or RCI sliders but then I would have to deal with the corrosion and the joint and for the price I went this route.

We made these out of SS tubing and did find a good place to mount the rear section off the trailing arm mount.

So I ended up with rugged steps rather than sliders. That works for me as I can't see much rock crawling with this truck. I can jump on them and they don't move so that is good enough and they are much lighter than sliders made out of steel.

 

If I was doing it again I probably would have gotten Bud Builts as the CBIs come up short (literally). Not by much, but the Buds on my 200 Land Cruiser cover all the way to the fender/wheel wells on front and back.

Since my 200 is my offroader for difficult trails, the CBIs will be more than sufficent for the fairly easy trails my Tundra will see.
