Sent him another email earlier today but no reply yet. Really hoping they come in soon. I'll be working on the fueling system this weekend. Been going super slow on the s/c kit install work over the last week.

He replied Monday saying they finished on the lathe and are on the cnc now, and that'd I'd be notified the tracking info when they shipped. Gonna wait till next week to bug him again lol

I went ahead and swapped to the 2.30" from the 2.00" pulley today. I'm driving to California multiple times and towing trailers over the next two weeks, and while I'm sure running in a lower gear would keep the boost from the 2.0 under control, it'd also involve running a higher rpm, so I think this is the most fuel efficient (let alone easiest/safest) method for going down in elevation, and I won't have any issues going WOT at sea level then (in theory).

This will also be the first time running the new 2.30" pulley, so doesn't hurt to make sure it performs correctly. I'm also curious how the tune will be affected, though in my mind nothing should have to change since the MAF will just be limited to a lower voltage range.

    PXL_20230128_184329555.jpg

It took me 12 minutes and 45 seconds to swap it, which was faster than I was expecting. The breaker bar can be rested on the sway bar when loosening the tensioner, then I have this metric Wera kit ($90 on Amazon) thats in all of my vehicles, and it has a mini ratchet and a screw driver. Undo the 12 bolts, pull the pulley off, and then what's insanely nice is since the front of the hub is chamfered, you just rest the belt on the pulley and slide the pulley and belt on together in one go. I had designed for this but had yet to experience it, it may seem like a small thing but not having to pry the belt over the pulley is one of those little features that's nice. Then put the bolts back in, pop the breaker bar off the sway bar and voila.

I do have a theory that the larger pulley will stretch the belt and make it unusable with the 2.0" pulley, but we'll find out in a few weeks.

Badass and good thoughts with the belt...might need to throw a paint pen on part of it for when you're rocking the 2.3" and not slipping on the 2.0"! Your hub design is f'n right on easy swapping!!

I don't have a giant breaker bar like I should, but I found it a lot easier to get to the tensioner pulley from below the engine. Just in case anyone else has that problem. Multiple ways to reach it

Yea that's how I've always done it. If the breaker bar/socket can be slipped on with the bar hanging vertically, then rotate it counter clockwise from the front, then depending on the bar you can set it on the sway bar. A ratchet would work the same way too. Main annoyance is just slipping it past the fan shroud since most everything hits it in my experience.

That pulley puller is pretty sick! I wonder if one could order just that. In the vid he uses the same sort of pulley press tool that URD sells, but his also looks a lot beefier

Alright, after lots of delays and issues with other companies, and talking to a handful of people at the SLC Offroad Expo about superchargers and having me do work for them, I decided to go ahead and just sell the pulleys myself. I sent out to three different shops today for quotes for a small production run. I'll probably put a little website together of "Snivs Speed Shop". Will keep this updated as I hear back from shops.

Alright! I placed an order with a shop in Utah for 10x hubs and 16x pulleys (4x of each size, from 2.0" - 2.3"). The guy said he's about 2 weeks out right now, so I expect mid-late March to have them in my hands. Still waiting to hear back from two other shops, so I may order a batch from them too to diversify where the manufacturing is done and maybe get some sooner.

That's great to hear! One thing to consider, I'm not certain it matters too much, but can your fabricators debur the pulleys afterwards? The rib-edges are so crisp I feel they'll eat up the belts...but perhaps that's just "grip?"

That's a manufacturing defect of the ones you received, that's why I'll swap out your parts with mine for free. The unit I have on my truck has all the edges smoothed and radiused, and the actual rib contact area doesn't have chatter marks which appears to be what yours is. Mine also has a concave face to the pulleys and I think yours is flat. It might be hard to tell from this photo, but this is how they should look and everything is smoothed off, no sharp edges. That is why I decided to do it myself, it was evident having another company inherit what I made wasn't working since they didn't have the vision and quality control that I expected.

Awesome! Yes, mine is straight-cut and ready for more! When you're ready, I am too! Thank you for the quick response and showmanship of what your eyes expect to give! I'm excited to get my boost back at elevation! You're going ot have to create some Sniv Speed Shop stickers now too since you're the real deal now ;)

Yea I'm pretty stoked, I'll throw together a little website in the coming days and some stickers and details on everything. I'm excited to be able to offer a trade in program too, that seems like a no brainer with a modular pulley but I don't think other companies do that.

I'm not trying to bash on SRQ, he does make lots of good products, but his focus is mostly bumpers, grilles, sliders, stuff like that. Machining and engine performance stuff is a bit outside his wheel house, which is why that didn't work out. I've spent tons of money with him and worked with him on lots of stuff, but in this case it'll be better if I do it myself.

I have my tune scheduled for 3/27, if possible I'd really love to get mine before the 25th. Is that possible? I'll pay now if needed!

No guarantees, but if the machinist keeps with what he said I think you'll be fine. He said on Feb 27 he was "out about 2 weeks". So hopefully around the 13th he starts working on them. That gives two weeks for me to get them and overnight them. Sounds realistic to me! Though I don't think there's anything I can do at this point to speed the process sadly.

@snivilous I can prepay as well if it helps to cover the upfront cost with the machine shop. Just let me know.

I appreciate that a lot guys! But we're good right now. This guy ended up being a lot cheaper than I was expecting so it was an easy choice to go for it. I only ordered 10x of the hubs and 4x of each pulley size, so it's a small manufacturing run too.

I still need to throw together a little website, and I have someone making a design for some stickers.
