I'm running the smoke red spyder tails and spyder smoke black headlights. The fit is great and they are plenty bright. I wish they were a bit darker like the recons, but they are still red enough that the cops don't give me crap about them and with my past experience with recon, I won't be buying anymore of their products either way.

I had their light up fender badges on my F250, they made it 1 month before they filled up with water. They did warranty them out, but when it happened again a little over 2 months later, I was informed that their overpriced "premium" product only has a 90 day warranty and there was nothing they could do for me.

Thank you sir. Got some RBP 94s with their new angled inserts on order. I'm excited to see how it looks. Also have the Anzo 3rd brake light to put in this week. I've heard its a fun time.

Attempting 3rd brake light install. F that noise. Thought I could drop the headliner a little more to get at the bolts. No good. Didn't want to risk dropping the nutz so bailed on the switch out. Also there is a special place in he'll for the tech who designed these PIA handle clips. Warning do not remove handles unless you have a free afternoon.

I just replaced my Winjets with a pair of Recons in a matter of weeks. The Winjets looked great but as I’ve seen in many reviews, the quality control sucks. The top driver side marker fell out almost immediately. The LED bar on the passenger side had dim spot and I was having some serious buyers remorse... I decided to bite the bullet and spend the extra for smoked red Recons.

The LED bars seem a little more visible on the Winjets (minus the dark spot) in day light. I’m guessing because the red lens and the smoke.

The brake and turn signals seem brighter on the Recons. The brake has more/brighter LEDs and are more visible.

I am pretty damn happy I made the switch because I feel the quality and fit is better on the Recons and the provide a much better look than stock.

I read about all the troubles of installing a 3rd party LED light so I just removed the cover. I bought $1 tint vinyl on ebay expecting to throw it away, made some DIY spray, used a DIY squeegee and my heat gun, watched how a pro installs vinyl on tail lights. I'm just waiting on the three LED bulbs to ship. Headlight Revolution has a vid showing how the bulb upgrade is brighter than stock.

I'm probably going with the Spyder's smoke red like the Black Ice Tundra on youtube (screenshot):

No, both Winjets and Recons came with resistors installed. Straight plug & play.

Nice work. Post up on the new bulbs with the tint. I ended up doing 1 layer plastic dip. Looks good to me and the brake light is still bright.

Thanks, I will! The stock 3rd red is still good at night, the cargo light isn’t, looks dull yellow through the tint.

A few of my friends Plastidipped their car tails, looks matte, I considered it plus glossifier. I also see there’s a VHT gloss method but I wanted a long term solution that is easily removable.

The vinyl tint works for the 3rd, the shape is flat with a bezel. On the tails there’s little pointers that stick out on the side, would be tricky to stretch and wrap over.

I wish a company would make a beaded “C” shape red LED DRL’s to match the front 2018’s. The Spyder/Recon tubulars look a bit dated, and the Winjets look busy, remind me of Star Wars, that’s just me. Driving around I see simple beaded tails from Escalades to Audi’s.

Ya, I really like eagle eye Anzo’s, they were the first aftermarket ones that caught my attention. If they were beaded strips, covered in smoke/red and had better Amazon reviews pointing to QC, I’d get them for sure. When it’s a continuous tube on the Spyder/Recons, it reminds me of a CFL bulb.

Eg; what I mean by beaded

What part number is this? The smoked out dark red or just the smoked out?

I can’t find a truck with the two different tail lights.

Also, does anyone have an updated promo code for Recon?

Nice work! I just simply sprayed the inside of the lens with Plasti-dip. The outside was left alone and is still shiny.
