Yep, just remove them and unplug them. Make sure to tape up the plugs really well to prevent moisture. @n0rth had some weird issues with his bsm plug having a weird short in it due to snow and salt in it.

Yeah it's really fun to drive. It'll get 37's, a front bumper and possibly a flat bed. My other tundra can't haul anything in the bed because of the camper and buildout so this one's main purpose will be hauling bumpers and steel.
And it was good timing for the new truck because I'll need to haul some stuff Tuesday. :spy:

That’s a good call on covering the plug. I have some aerospace harness rtv for that exact reason.

That’s awesome. Can’t wait to see the build. I’ve always wanted a flat bed.

I'm just excited to have a truck I can use as a truck again. I'll post a picture of the style of bed I'll build. We did this one on a Ford a couple years ago.

@STravis, I used to be on IG, no longer on it. Do you happen to have a website to place an order in or DM directly?

Yeah...I'm not very bright haha. Should be cool though. And I can justify pulling the 37's off since they have a home on the single cab soon.

I get it. I am on a road trip in SD right now. Playing in the black hills this week and going to the Badlands Monday. The list of desired versus actually going to happen is changing quickly. Unfortunately for me, your bumper has moved up the list lol. When on the road traveling, the tire equipment was buried. So when I get home I am going to look at options and if it all rounds out like it is in my head, that means new bumper from you with a tire rack. and then of course the expense for my rims and tires changes *rolls eyes.

Either way, loving the photos you shared and looking forward to watching the new trucks build.

They have been great traction wise. They wear a little fast, but they are super affordable compared to other tires. And they actually made a 39x12.50 instead of a 13.50. I'll actually keep track of mileage and stay on top of rotations this go round. I'll probably rotate a little more frequently around 3,000 miles just to get everything I can out of them.

Awesome, we'll be waiting for you when you're ready. It's always good to get out and travel and then creat your priorities. Too many people build trucks with cool parts and then never use them.

I got them from simple tire. It was just under 2k for 5.

Yeah, I appreciated your input previously. I am going to check with my cousin too since he was the one asking about the excursion. Regardless, I had a good list made based on what I thought and then shifted a lot of the priority locations around with this one. Pretty happy so far and am thankful she is doing her job so well. And for once, she isnt the only one thirsty up here LOL

Unfortunately, NM was one of the states cut off from my trip when I had to make two unplanned adjustments. But I will be same time next year if that plan holds.

Alright, thoughts on the tires. So far I love them. They are smooth, pretty quiet and look awesome. They appear way narrower than the 37's I had previously but are sized the same at 12.50 wide.
The shop didn't do a traditional balance because they couldn't get it close, but they also don't know what the dots on tires mean as far as indexing them on the wheels. They have 8oz of balance beads in them, but I will probably end up adding more. They rode smooth up to 65 mph today though.

Fitment - I didn't get a chance to mess with it too much today but my rake is very noticable with the 39's so the front coilovers will be adjusted up about .75-1". I will also do some more cutting on the body mount. I will end up cutting the bolt out that holds the retainer plate but leave the main bolt and bushing. Eventually it will be relocated. I may be able to get away with just hammering the pinch weld and cab back a little more but I will pull the coilovers soon to check for clearance and possibly just tub the firewall. I also think I will take 1-1.5 inches out of the fender just to clear them more.

Power - the truck still has plenty of power and gets up and goes when I need it to. I am used to the single cab now though so I'm really wanting to supercharge this one now but that will be quite a way down the road.

We'll see soon enough. I'm thinking the mods required to make them work without handicapping the suspension will be a deterrent for most people. No sense in this size of tires if you can't run them off-road.

I hope you can manage with just one of your bad ass Tundra’s supercharged for a while.

If you do end up doing the relocation and/or tubbing the firewall, please post some decent photos. That’s eventually on my list as well!

I'll definitely document the process. I'm tired of people saying the only way to run big tires is with a big drop bracket lift or not being able to utilize their suspension to its potential.
