This sounds funny - do you ever regret buying a full size truck?

I would regret buying a Tacoma when a first Gen. is the same size. The 4.7 gets good gas mileage if you want to. Why have such a gutless wonder, but I guess it's good if you drive around like it's a car.

I had a VW Golf TDI (4dr), that I loved, especially on road trips. I've always had a car + truck, but after really thinking about it, I need a truck more than I need a car. VW bought the TDI back, I opted for a Ranger (old, used) at first, but then wanted to buy a camper. Even a small, 18ft, camper was difficult to manage with the Ranger.

It's about what you need, I think.

Since I started my new job, which is 100% work from home, I'm less worried about the MPGs :) I was looking for some 4cyl car I could DD, but then considered the extra insurance, registration, and maintenance costs so I opted to just buy a Tundra.

Makes sense. I had my tacoma because I thought it was awesome. Then I realized I wanted a Tundra since I was 13 years old :). Do I need it, ehhh not really. But it is awesome. Plus I love the room. I could live without the huge towing mirrors lol

Before the T-100 came about, you only had one choice. Still awesome trucks, even today. My first truck ever was a 81 Toyota 4x4 with the R22 carbureted engine. Even after I welded the frame back together, you just couldn't kill it. Once the Tundra came out with the V8, I was sold. Plus more room that I like. Both good trucks, and it's about what you need.
