Toyota's production process is based on the Toyota Production System (TPS), a management system that integrates manufacturing, logistics, and interactions with suppliers and customers. The TPS is a lean manufacturing system that aims to eliminate waste and achieve efficiency.

IMO, Toyota's own TPS is why we're unlikely see the return of the 5.7, aside from EPA baloney.

Offering multiple power train choices doesn't fit within their manufacturing process.

Lucky for us 5.7 owners is the fact that the engine is nearly bomb proof and as shown in this thread, has quite the cult following.

In the decades to come I'm certain there will be plenty of vendors along with Toyota keeping our 5.7's going just like the venerable Land Cruisers.

All vehicles depreciate, my truck has depreciated 20k over the 2 years I have owned it. Of course, my assets and stocks/ investments/ HYSAs and what not appreciated way more than that same 20k. For the most part vehicles are depreciated assets. You do not buy any vehicle to appreciate only in rare cases do they do that. It is based upon rarity of the vehicle, miles and originality. No one is buying a Truck or Car to appreciate in value. I do owe less than 30k on my truck so I still have roughly 20k in equity in it equal to the depreciation, but no one should be buying vehicles to appreciate.

I am sure that will sell at that price, the good, priced ones usually do.

I don't. This is my first Tundra. I had the opportunity to buy a brand new turbo Tundra but after some research, I stuck with what's been proven. The 5.7 on paper is more reliable so far than the V6TT. Now will Toyota get it right? Absolutely. It's only a matter of time. Now will they get a million miles? Only time will tell.

The technology doesn’t exist yet to build a way back machine and go back in time 30 years to revisit the 12 valve cummins that has a mild engine build.

You found the lowest priced Cybertruck in the country, congratulations! somebody let it go for a low trade ball which happens all the time. I do enjoy my truck and it is just a 23 Hybrid 3.4 TT TRD OR Limited.

Not in CA for the next two years anyway. After that, our current Governor has to leave, but if a certain soon to be EX-VP runs and gets elected, the same policies on steroids will continue.
