I did, but not that much speed. Just enough to get me through the mountains with ease and not struggle as much as my 22 year old 4runner.

Huge improvement over the 4Runner in drivability. Traded a 17 4Runner for the Tundra. Fortunately no big mountains here in the east :)

Not sure about a 22, but I think they are limited below the 2.5 gen. My 21 with non calibrated speedo on 35's will run up in the 120's without breathing hard, which is about ideal considering tire, road, and traffic limitations.

112 before it throttles back on 2.5gen. Plenty of farm roads around here.
Did a 100-0 at full braking test three times in a row after TFL overheated their TRX brakes towing and got mine smoking a bit. Kept driving at 30-40mph afterwards with light touch of braking to cool them down and prevent warping.

Is that 120 mph from GPS? That means the ECM should have seen ~110 mph

That is showing over 110 on non calibrated speedo with stock gears. Increased tire diameter would add around 10 mph, which tells me about 120-125. Trust me, that is hauling balls in a lifted Tundra with massive armor. Even if I could, don't think I would do much more over a significant distance in a Tundra. Gotta draw a somewhat reasonable line most of the time and just cruise.

I've never understood the fascination with unlocking the top speed restriction. When do you really need to go above 100 mph? Around Southern California I'm excited if I can hit 65 with our traffic.

Stopping a Dodge Charger (police package) at 140 mph is sketchy enough. Driving that fast in a pickup is not for me!

Let's not forget the source of the claimed 140mph speed came from the "sales rep". They'll tell you anything..."You want a truck that do can 160 mph? Take a look at this new 2022 Tundra over here man...I've already gotten mine up to 140mph". I bet he also gets 30mpg and his Tundra came with tow hooks too.

Is the gen2.5 limited at a higher speed? My 2010 cuts out at 108.

My commute is basically a 35-mile straight line with no houses on it for about 25 miles of it. It's hard not to go 90+ lol.

Whatcha mean? Frequently was going ~100 on the 5 in carpool. If you don't you get underpassed by angry people.

Depends where you are going and what day/time. When I go from Ventura to San Diego if I leave at 6am I go... exactly the speed limit ;);)

But if I leave at 8am I spend a lot of time in 2nd or 3rd gear.

I experience about 112ish, so 105-110 is max power cruise.

Do you have larger tires than stock? If not, then you should match. You'll only throw off your speedo and odometer by changing tire sized. He said that he has bigger tires.

Thanks and Understand. Running the standard TRD 20" Wheel/Tire combo. I've found most cars new have minor speedo accuracy issues with them showing 1-2 MPH than actual speed.

I have no desire to see how fast the Tundra can go
But since I live in Austin, the. Primary road I travel on has a posted speed limit of 85 mph.
Most people travel on it 90-95 + mph

Only a dream here for that posted speed. Best we have is some stretches at 70MPH

There was a discussion of this a couple of years ago. A Toyota tech over-rode the speed limiter and was getting some pretty high speeds.........but with the 9" clearance you get a lift problem with all that wind going underneath. He said you'd have to lower it for a really high speed run. Let's say you were doing a police interceptor and took care of the governor, tire, and driveshaft issues. You wouldn't want that 120 mph column of air lifting the front end. On cars w/o a fan clutch, a large amount of hp goes into turning the fan* + you start getting some aerodynamic drag with any pickup over 100. Easier to get a Corvette. Just before the 2022 was released, there was a commercial showing what looked like a NASCAR-spec Tundra in some NASCAR team's shop building. Was that just for looks, or did Toyota Racing spec out a real 150-200 mph unit?

I still think they're missing a bet by not building 100 commemorative NASCATRUKS
with detuned engines & headlights. I think a lot of people would pay a hundred grand for one of those slammed singlecabs.

*Amazon sells Tundra fan clutches so we must have them.
