I've heard the yellow box don't like to work on the 05-06's. Did you have to do anything special to make it work? I have 4.56 gears I haven't installed yet and I imagine it's going to throw my speedo off even more once i do. So I've been thinking about either calibrating my scangauge speedo with my GPS or getting a yellow box

The tires threw my speedo off, not the gears. When I regeared, I thought the same but it just changes the RPM's back to or close to stock. The 04-06's get the speed from the ABS sensors. With the yellow box, you'll need to splice into the ABS purple wire. Here's a How-to that I followed from @seth419 for our 04-06 DC.
I used to drive with the WAZE app to get my speed but since I installed the Yellow box there is no need. The speedometer is dead on.
