I have found another "New way" to disappear in a legit manner...o_O

Load the Tundra with anything that will not go in our "Townie Can" and drive out to the Transfer station ...It takes longer sitting in the lines

going in & off the scale than the entire round trip to drive there..:fistbump:

Con asked ; Where did you go and I explained that our yard debri and all the cardboard boxes now belong to someone else :monocle:

Our transfer station gets pretty bad. They allow businesses to use it, even though the landfill is 30 minutes away. Businesses constitute probably 70% of the traffic that lines up on both sides of the street waiting to go in. It's taken me an hour before. (Steven says) They need to restrict that facility to residential trash only...

When I drove in there were no commercially marked vehicles in line BUT as I was leaving a few tree/landscape trucks pulling trailers were in line to Scale...

I did stop at the County Office at the Main Gate to make sure which entrance was for homeowners and it was mentioned no Large equipment is

allowed at the transfer site...smaller scales and payment is required per load..

Good information for me once I start the "Renovation" work....Bathrooms will be a couple loads each with the Tundra BUT the Kitchen is a whole

different animal...Renting or purchasing a trailer  o_O..

See, that's a bit of bullshit... You're literally saving the city/county/water district money by trailering all of that to the transfer station yourself, and you're paying hefty fees in your water bill for the pleasure of doing it...

We have bulk day on the last trash day of the month, and these idiots in my (not starter) neighborhood stack dirty mattresses, reno trash, and other random crap 8 feet high across the entire length of their back fence on the alley (some leave it out there for weeks waiting on bulk day). The city definitely carries an interest in making it easier for people to get rid of big trash; but here we are.

Good luck with the reno. Living in the house while the reno is underway will be an adventure, I'm sure.

Had the boy go through Hunter Ed here over the weekend, MA is a 2 day, 16 hour course. (8 each day). I think his eyes were glazed over, he he definitely wanted to be home on his xbox, but he got a 96 on his test and can carry the gun this coming season. Be glad to have someone else out there with me.

Our town has its own, which is pretty cool. It does fill up fast but I can at least call the town hall and ask how full it is.

When disposed of our deck, I rented a 15 yard roll off container or whatever. Saved a ton of money doing it that way.

That's great. I can remember my son going through that; but MA apparently has stricter requirements than TX. It might not be the biggest accomplishment, but it's an accomplishment.

I sat through and “audited” the course with him, so he at least knew I was going through the same thing as him and I didn’t have to. I think it might have helped keep him focused. A friend of mine from the state police was there with his daughter, so he got some cool police stories during the breaks, which is good as that is his current career choice.

The new home is in "County proper" and we have a private contractor for trash pick-up; they will do it BUT pricing gets Stupid..,

If you walk across my back yard to my neighbors , you cross onto "City of Winter Haven" and a whole different set of rules/fees o_O

This will be "Reno" # 2 ... We rebuilt our "Forever Home" after Irma BUT then that Jerk Ian took it away :( ..

With this Home it is more about updating ; Once you have has NEW bathrooms and Kitchen in one , the other Has too replicate :p :D...

And while taking advantage of "Credits" from the Electric company helping pay for windows & door replacement the "Budget" is quite friendly ..

I did, too; but my son was 9 years old so I wouldn't have left him there alone anyway. His mom and I were split, so it was good bonding time, and the promise of hunting was exciting for him. It was a great time in life for me.

In MA, you can’t hunt (hold the gun) until your 12, and have hunters Ed. I couldn’t find a class for him last year, so this season he’ll be 13 and able to hold the gun. He’s excited for that. I think he’s more excited for upland birds than deer though.

In TX the requirement is for hunting without direct supervision. Not sure who would let their 9 year old hunt without supervision, but that's the youngest, and so that's the youngest that can take the course. Over 17 has to have it regardless. It was all a live course when my son went through, but some of it can be online now. Not sure I'd opt for that even if I could.

My grandson (11) was all about the dove this past fall, and he loved getting his dad's old 20ga. Not sure what a kid likes more - getting a new gun or getting an old one. Maybe both - just getting a gun.

The kids have had gun safety drilled into them since they were born, my kids index their nerf and squirt guns.

they’ve had BB guns since they were 4, and shooting at the range with me by 7

I don't hunt so I've never heard of hunter's ed, but sounds like a great idea for kids, and good on you for teaching him right.

I have been thinking of getting my concealed permit. We don't need it here in AZ to carry concealed (constitutional carry state), but think it would be a good idea to have if I happen to travel to a neighboring state that recognizes an AZ permit.
