I don't know how many times I have to tell people, bacon is an ingredient much in the same way that garlic is an ingredient, you add it to things but do not eat it on its own.

Because it was a rushed purchase. Build quality isn't great. Love having a V8, but questioning the reliability of the transmission. HATE the color. Miss having a Toyota.

Yeah, I have been trying to like it, and it's just forced. It's not bad, the 5.0 is actually nice, but it's everything else. Just not feeling it.

I'm seriously contemplating a *gasp* 3rd gen. I've priced the '18-'21 trucks and they are all more miles and money than I'd like to get into. Yes, the 3rd gen is not cheap, but it's also not sitting with 50K miles and I am seeing them at the same price that the damn 2.5 gens are at. Toyota is also offering 1.99 interest rates on the Tundra because of the recall flak they've had.

Now would be a good time to do it. Just get the 10/100,000 Toyota Platinum warranty from on of the dealers listed here that sell them cheap.

Get whatever makes you happy. Speaking for myself, I'm saving up for a Voodoo Blue Tundra, likely a TRD Pro. I have wanted one since I first laid eyes on one when I was in Arizona. I own my vehicles for so long, it makes no sense for me to get anything other than exactly what I want as long as it makes financial sense.

That's no fun. Do what you got to do man. The offer I made before still stands, if you want me to look at any vehicles in my neck of the woods, just let me know and I'll check it out for ya. (And I even know what all the little metal bits underneath are unlike the salesman that one time :p)

    There's a reason dude. ^^

    I'll put it this way.

Look to the future; What would you rather have in 10 years when you're 50?
    Let's say you average 12k miles/year.

    '21 Tundra with 170k miles
    '25 Tundra with 120k miles

You know the platform and reliability. Not bashing the 3rd gen but it's not even close in my opinion

I get that, but I also have an internal "fuck no!" at the thought of paying more (WAY more) used than I did new on truck that has more miles than my 2019 did at trade in. It makes my eye twitch. I hate what the panicdemic did to vehicle prices.

I love my 3rd Gen. I have no real complaints about it. It's comfortable, drives great, has power for days, and gets decent fuel economy for a half ton.

My only little nitpicks are stuff like the nannies can be annoying and some minor first model year weatherstripping issues (fixed by the dealer). The only real design misses I've seen are the lack of a rear bumper to step on when the tailgate is down and no tow hooks on so-called off road trims. Both are minor in the grand scheme of things though and have after market solutions.

I've also owned an F150 and drive them for work. Fords are forever banned from my family.

Good info. Which engines have you used in the Ferd? What years?

I owned a 2013 F150 with the 5.0L. The motor was fine. The rest of the truck was a piece of shit. 18 months, $6000+ in warranty work plus $1200 out of pocket to keep it on the road. 3 dealerships treated us like crap and wouldn't stand behind their product.

I've driven a 2019, 2021 and now a 2023 F150 for work. 5.0L, Ecoboost and whatever the regular V6 is. Electrical issues galore, uncomfortable as hell, front end failures and garbage dealers are the norm.
