Tundras live: Now with one picture for every 45 paragraphs!

In your adventures, have you ever hit the low part of the exhaust on anything? I stumbled into the "exhaust relocation" but struggled to find anyone who actually said anything more than "I did the relocation mod" so it's super useless. Anyway, you've got a Taco; does the low hanging exhaust cause you issues?

 

Kinda what I was thinking too. I'm just planning the armor and the T case skid is what put me into that rabbit hole. With the front handled by the Pro skid and the transmission likely getting a cat skid from @Classy63 , I wasn't sure if I needed the T case skid that would necessitate an additional modification. Everything will be aluminum this go around as well. Tacos don't handle the added weight as readily as the Tundra does.

 

Aluminum is a small increase in cost, but usually about half the weight. The low prices on these are the steel and the highest ones are powder coated aluminum. I'd likely do bare aluminum and rattle can it.










RCI also has a sale going right now... you know... in case you need skids or sliders...

 

By closing they are saving you money that you can put toward Tacoma mods.

 

I wouldn't be real worried about corrosion on the aluminum. The only reason to paint it would be to change the look. Then again, the Pro Skid is a bare aluminum, but dulled. Maybe just a matter clear or something.... or go nuts and paint it some crazy color. only the smallest bit would show from the side.

 

I think that'd be a bit much for me. Likely just paint a matte silver or black if I do anything. Just not sure how good raw aluminum would look in the profile view of an orange/red truck.

 

@LarryDangerfield yours is Silver Sky, right? You could go raw aluminum and it'd look like it was paint matched. And remember, it's 15% off right now.

As for skids, I kinda had that feeling too, but if I go run Imogene or Black Pear Pass I am pretty sure I'll want full coverage and some sliders. That'll be a long way out, though.
