well said. But seriously if you want to know what Tolkien was depicting a film adaptation will always stray. Gotta read the books and just stick with the authors version.

The OG LOTR trilogy was pretty close and at least tried to stay somewhat close in spirit. The scamazon rings of power series is an abomination that goes against the nature of the world he built. I get that there will be some license taken, such as the first trilogy of films, but it's not an utter desecration like the series.

 

F and C do come into it though. @Outbound, as a Canadian, could have a week straight of "zero degree" weather and be warmer than @LarryDangerfield having a week of 20 degree weather.

 

assuming Amazon bought rights to characters and made their own versions? I'd boycott them too if I was a rings fan and they did this. I've never seen any of the movies but did read the hobbit as a child, but no other books in the series.

Every time I've made the assumption he was communicating in Celsius he has corrected me and told me that he was communicating in Fahrenheit so that all of us seperationists would understand.

 

They bought rights to some of the older appendices that didn't have complete stories. It left the door open to bastardization. They're doing a series set before the events of the LOTR or The Hobbit, but they are violating the established characters and history because it's not explained in detail in the appendices. Though, given the horseshit they are pulling with the Warhammer 40,000 series, it wouldn't matter if it were clearly spelled out. They want their agenda pushed.
