I just got my order put in. Looking forward to it.

My work has me in the city quite a bit during the week, and I end up in a lot of parking garages. I’ve been extremely concerned about my cats getting stolen. I’ll have some peace of mind once my shields are ready.

I did basically the same thing with a rolling creeper by myself.
Did it in my driveway, had a good laugh when a couple neighbors walked by and heard me grunting as I tightened the z-bracket hangers. They were looking in my general area with a weird look, I was entirely under the truck so they couldn’t see me. I slid out to get a better angle and saw their look, said hi, we laughed, I got back to tightening down the beastly plates. :D

I bought a plate from Tyler a long time ago and simply never got around to installing it after I painted it. I recently did a full trans flush, so now I got it installed along with my P&P front skid.

The lack of clearance was a huge issue due to the super wide coverage of the P&P engineering skid plate, and I didn't realize until now Tyler has figured out a nut plate solution, so my DIY solution was to use huge eye bolts, and I used a pry bar to hold them in place while I tightened with an impact. I don't love low they hang, but I still might trim the bolts down a bit.

I also had the secondary cats removed already by a friend, so now I'm all set!

I picked my 3/16" aluminum plates up on Friday! Installed today w/ pentagon bolts and rock hard auto bolt protectors.

Expect that some of the RHA bolt protectors will fit the pentagon socket, but some will not. I suppose it just depends where the bolt protectors counterbore diameter falls within the wide manufacturing tolerances that RH auto are using.

Thank you Tyler for the great product!

Yeah I'm a lazy asshole lol. Really I just knew I wanted to do my trans fluid flush, and get the secondary cats removed first. It just took too long of a time to do that, so this got put on the back burner.

Do you have a current hard to reach bolt solution for the front bolts? I like my MacGyver solution, but it's not ideal how low the bolts hang.

Hey Tyler, placed an order last week for barebones 1/8th steel both plates with shipping out to Canada. Was looking for a rough time estimate on the plates.

    Thanks looking forward to em

Actually, I should have these plates in about 2 weeks, shipping them out will take alittle more time

I haven't used mine yet, but it's gotta be easier than trying to tread that nut on each skid plate bolt..

Oh yeah that would be way easier! Does this utilize the same 5/8x4 bolts that are provided for the front mount? They look smaller but maybe my eyes are deceiving me.

I was happy to find a MacGyver solution using these https://tinyurl.com/bdmvc4u2 and reaching up with a pry bar to hold them steady and I tightened the nuts from below, but I don't love how low the huge nuts end up hanging down :rimshot: So this would be a much cleaner solution. I think Tyler must have developed this nut plate after I bought my plate last year and never installed it lol. I think I have an OG V1 plate!

I bought Tyler's security bolts so I'm not sure if it's the same thread as the stock bolt.
I'm sure @Classy63 will let us know..

The nut plate uses 3/8 bolts because that is what is used on the TRD/PRO plate (essentially the metric equivalent)

I am officially into February now with what I have to ship, I am still going!

So if I am ordering a nut plate because I have an RCI engine skid and want easy installation, should the pentagon bolt package selected be:
    "8-bolt" or "TRD PRO 8"

Based on your post, it seems as if the difference is bolt diameter on the two bolts to accommodate the TRD PRO 3/8" bolts and I should order this?

Correct, for ordering with the RCI, order like you have the PRO plate. I need to change the wording on that stuff to make it more clear

Pretty sure your active presence on this forum and being able to get clarification straight from the source makes up for it. Certainly did for me! Just placed an order for red powder coated front and rear with security bolts.

Great, thanks. I'll kind of miss the monster 5/8 bolts, but I sure will prefer an easier install.

So, an idea I have been toying with is making a nut plate for the 4x4 rough country lifts. If I did, you could get this and it would have 1/2” bolts in it

Nice, yeah that wouldn't be bad at all to have. I'll all about overengineering just for the hell of it too lol. I'll keep tabs here and 100% place an order when the time comes. Keep up the great work man

Received my front cat plate yesterday and installed last night. Very impressive quality.

Now waiting to order a matching v3 rear plate when it’s available.

Went ahead and ordered the rear plate to compliment the front. 3 Tundras just got hit at the Michelin factory around here. Facebook scanner page said 3 other Tundras were hit the same day, this is a fairly small town. Sigh
