Valhalla's Shields a scam? **AVOID CLICKING LINKS TO THEIR WEBSITE AS IT REDIRECTS**

It took longer than that to get my skids from CBI and even longer to get skids for my Sequoia from RCI! That was earlier this year...

 

If quick turnaround is your gig, you can't beat Talons or GetCatSecurity. Both only advertise what they have on hand ready to ship.

 

Valhalla shield for my 22 Tundra took just under 5 months.

Talon shield for my wife’s 22 4Runner was 4 days.

 

I paid for a Valhalla. After 8 weeks I emailed them and was offered a powder coated one because the aluminum stock was on-hand. I went ahead and plunked down more cash. A month later and still nothing. I politely requested a refund and prepared to reverse the credit card charges. He got me that refund quickly. I wish I could recommend Valhalla. But I can only recommend running away.

 

Ive emailed a few times and haven't received anything back, ever.

 

It’s too bad about Valhalla. I was one of his earlier customers and got my aluminum cat skids in about 6 to 8 weeks.

At the time, I only knew of one other cat skid option. I forget the name, but it was a one- piece design and didn’t extend far enough down compared to Valhalla’s 2-piece design, which in my opinion offered greater protective coverage for all 4 cats (all of 4 of my cats were stolen, and they even cut a purge valve line and fuel line, not to mention both O2 sensor wires).

Fortunately, my Valhalla skids are well-built and have been on for over two years with no issues. They fit perfect with my TRD Pro front skid.

As someone else said, I believe the owner of Valhalla got in way over his head and simply couldn’t keep up with the high demand. It’s a shame what happened with Valhalla as his cat skids are really well made, or at least mine are.

 

I totally understand getting too busy/big too fast. That doesn't stop you from emailing or returning emails to customers. There is always time for that. In addition, you're still taking orders too. At that point, you are intentionally misleading people.

 

Supporting the "little guy" was exactly why I went with Valhalla's in the first place. He was more expensive, but looked like he had a better product and I try to shop small/local if I can. Really disappointing that he is still taking orders if he isnt able to fulfil.

I was an early order on the Valhalla for my 2020. Received within 8-10 weeks as promised. Based on feedback on the site, I was a lucky one. Now that I have a 23', I was going to order another one from him, and realized that was not going to go well. Based on Feedback here, I ordered with Talon's Garage. My only comment for Talon's garage is, I never received a shipping notice or tracking. I placed the order on the 5th and received the package later the following week. If that's the only issue, it's not an issue. The plate was packaged well, and bag of bolts was taped inside so it didn't bang around. Took me about thirty minutes to install in my driveway.

Well I'm glad I waited for the Valhalla plates, fit and finish are perfect.

 

There is a good chance that it went to a spam folder or something of that nature. The website auto sends those once we put in the shipping info.

 

I had thought so as well, however no luck. Not the end of the world, purely a comment.

True, to others reading. If you go a 2-3 bossiness days without getting a shipping email reach out on our contact us page and we can find your shipping info.

I went with Valhallas to support the little guy and it’s hard to not feel scammed. I’ve sent 4 messages now about my early July order with no reply, credit card company won’t refund as it’s been more than 60 days. Anyone file against Tyler in small claims court for a refund? That’s my next/last option.

 

I got lucky and my credit union was able to reverse it. I have sent all the messages and never got one word back.

 

This is why i pay for stuff with Paypal, getting a refund is so easy, usually instant as long as you can provide some specific information.

It is too bad about Tyler, I was an early customer as well, back when he was pretty much the only option, and was able to get my items quickly, he had great communication and tech support as well through text messages for things like security hardware. The product is great, has held up really well to offroad abuse and best of all, peace of mind. Like others have said, he was just a victim of his own success,having a great product without proper infrastructure, he got quickly overwhelmed. One man businesses are really tough.

 

My experience with Valhalla just plain sucked. He did not respond to any emails so i got my money back from my credit card and they went after him and I ordered @Talon2006 shields and they shipped next day. Great shields and were less money

 

I was scammed as well. Placed an order on Black Friday ‘22. Can’t even get ahold of him. Let me know what you end up doing.

FWIW, I got a hold of Tyler in early December ref his closeout of shields. While I have a full set, I wanted the new rear shield that has the access panel. Tyler responded right away, but I was also aware of issues and used my AMEXCO for payment. Fast forward and he's dropped off the net and did not reply to my update emails nor was anything shipped (despite him stating it would go out next day). I did a dispute this week through AMEXCO and was refunded the full amount.

While some of me wants to help the little guys, and my original order was fulfilled, there could be clear indicators of fraud in the manner in which Tyler is taking calls and emails, then dropping off the net after funds are received.

I disputed the charge, but CC said I had waited to long to open a case.

 

When I emailed him letting him know to refund or I would reverse the charges on my credit card, he issued a refund in 2 days. If it has been since July, you'd better get on the ball right now. I wish I could recommend Valhalla. But all I can recommend is running away.

FWIW - Supposedly there is a 540 day chargeback rule:

Consumers have 540 days from the date the transaction was processed to file a chargeback with the issuing bank if the reason for the chargeback is one of the following: Services not provided. Merchandise not received, or received not as described, or defective merchandise. May 17, 2022
