    So is that 5 years of plates for $500 or is that just to secure the vanity plate and registration is in addition to that?

    My registration for a regular plate was over $500 last time.

    I agree, it needs to be personal, not just a gimmick or a passing fad..
    There have been a few threads on this subject but I can't find any.

    I've had a few over the years, but I'm sticking with my current one.
    When I met my wife in 2006 she had a ridgeback named Malloy.
    He was truly the best dog ever.
    He passed in 2015.

    In 2016 I honored him with a personal plate that I plan to keep as long as I'm driving..

    $450 for 5 years and just shy of $80 for the new sticker. So, I'll only have to pay for the sticker for the next 5 years. It will save me about $60 per year over what I did the first time.
