Video Games

I just uninstalled Destiny 2. I can’t bring myself to play it anymore. I do have Starfield preloaded on my Xbox and I’m anxiously waiting for its debut.
I soloed all of the strongholds showing up on the map and got tired of Diablo again.

 

I think it's close to a year since I last played D2. I had no plans on ever reloading it, but I heard that Keith David will now be playing Zavala. I've been a fan of his since Platoon so it got me interested in D2 again. Granted his role doesn't start until the next season, I got curious enough just to see what's going on in the D2 world right now. But I'm looking forward to Starfield as well, so that should get me off of D2 if I commit to playing it again.

But damn... 92 GB install. The one positive thing from that is I'm now looking at adding a 2 TB m.2 SSD to my rig since they're relatively cheap right now. It's about time, really, as it'll make my drive-space-management-quality-of-life much simpler lol.

Edit: The stupid thing though is that I still have Horizon 2 Burning Shores and Jedi Survivor waiting to be played, and I chose D2... sigh.

 

What's wrong with Des2? I remember watching my little cousin playing it while visiting up north and it seemed decent. It wasn't too bad.

I can relate re:burn out. Heres my play times, gang. Take it with a grain of salt though, since I leave a game minimized when not playing, so play timer is a bit artificially inflated. It keeps tickling while minimized.

 

It's just the repetitive grind for me.

 

That makes sense. Somewhat related: When playing watchdogs2 and prey, you open up the menu for skills and theres like a skill tree jungle of about 50 upgrades. That always put me off.

To me, it's a dilemma, you try to achieve greatness so that game will become more enjoyable and you won't suck, but once achieved, it feels like theres nothing else to accomplish. First world problems.

^^That plus Bungie's idea of creativity is making you go through the same areas... BACKWARD.

 

Yknow what's funny, my internet(spectrum) tops out at like 560mbps, but its snaily in steam. Epic rips on the other hand. Took me like an hour to install rdr2. 110gb(?)

Alien isolation encourages you to backpedal through same areas multiple times after you acquire better torch kits and I hated it. But it's understandable being on an isolated space station.

 

It took less than an hour for D2 for me, which was 94.5 GB. Must be a YMMV thing?

I'll pass... unless I really need to go poo.

I just *gasp* modded rdr2!

Installed dog companion, launched game, bonded with dog, fed him and then unleashed him on his previous owner. Good boah!! Fed him again.

After some 'extensive' modding, I think the road to online is permanently ruined. If I ever try joining a lobby, rockstar ban-hammer will nail me back to the motherland. Here are some pix.

I believe there were leaks of very early sandbox type gameplay of gta6. You are right though, they are enjoying the cash flow from their current projects. The other day they released red dead redemption for ps4 and switch I'm sure rockstar is enjoying a little financial boost from that move.

I actually have gta5 on my epic account because it was given away for free a long time ago. Played first couple missions, but couldn't get into it for some reason.

@BeauDacious , how is it, gang? I have it on epic (also was given away for free). I've got an unhealthy amount of hours in the long dark. (was also given out for free)

I have a couple hundred hours in. If you want to play on a private server shoot me a PM and ill send you the server info and get you access.

Its 90% soloable, but damn that last 10%... and the learning curve is not quite a cliff. Like every survival game, there is useless shit in the tech tree and shit that works so amazingly you always take it. If you play, fear caves...

I assume this is all of a PC? Or maybe I really need to upgrade my TV, as it never looked this good when I played.

Yeah, I don't think the console, even on a PS5 would match that. Sadly, that game got spoiled for me and I lost all interest. One of a couple things that were killed by spoilers, and part of why I'm so overly cautious with spoilers.

 

Spoilers suck for sure. I didn't know what this game was about when I heard all the commotion online. Decided to watch playthrough and enjoyed it so much I watched the whole thing till the end!

Few years later, I decided to pick it up when it was on sale for like 15 bucks. Played it through knowing the ending and still enjoyed it!

It's pretty slow, so I'm sure it's not for everyone. There is a lot of dialogue and cutscenes compared to the amount of actual shooting.

 

Spoilers usually kill stuff for me when I am in the middle of it. I was mid campaign and got the spoiler, and knowing that one little bit of info made me no longer care. I went back to the game a few times, but I just couldn't make myself care. Kinda like the Black Widow movie. Never watched it, because it's a prequel to a story that I already know the ending for. Just didn't interest me.

 

Meh. I save enough money, and don't have to worry about the unending MS updates that can tank stuff or change how it all works, that I am happy to stick to a console.

 

I have both but I mostly use my PS3 for watching movies these days. Besides, I'd have to have a computer anyways so may as well have one I can use to spend quality time with my brothers and friends on a Saturday night.
