Not sure how having a second key fob would have remedied this situation…..unless you ubered home or had someone bring it to you. I agree that it’s BS that you don’t have a second fob but it’s t Toyotas fault that you lost your fob.

[IMG] I ride trails every weekend and have yet to bring a key along for the ride. Toyota may have taken your 2nd key away but they still have a great built key storage

no way!? I didn't know 3rd gens had the interior fuel door release. I'd likely just use a magnetic holder and hide it.
I absolutely hate riding with stuff in my pockets. We had to cut our ride short yesterday when my buddy discovered he had an open pocket in his shorts leading him to believe his phone slipped out. It was safely sitting in his vehicle when we got back to the parking lot.

The first thing I did when I got my single key was to put a keychain on it with an Air Tag, I dont want to be in your situation and lose the only key I have.

I didnt even know that my apple watch has the toyota app so thanks for mentioning it here but How did you get your apple watch app to work? Everytime I try to use it it tells me to sign in to the app on my phone which is completely useless. If you have any tips that would be awesome!

Who ever isn't sure, check with your MVA, they'll be able to tell you what the vehicle was when you bought the License Tag. Car tags are for cars, truck tags are for trucks.o_O:D

I’m 100% certain you’re wrong. I do it almost daily.

well I’m at least smart enough not to lose my keys like you did. So you do you. I lock my keys inside my vehicle daily…intentionally. So if you want an idea that works try it. Otherwise no fawks given.

There's a thread on here how to do it. I do it all the time when I swim or bike. Just FYI.

Edit - I'm not saying it's his fault that toyota didn't give him a second key though. That's lame...

    To clarify
Are you guys saying that you can use the Toyota app for more than just checking your vehicle?

You mean if you subscribe to Remote connect?

Or is there more to the app that I am unaware of

I’m able to lock the fob inside as @Dfrink outlined in the other thread(below). But I get the alarm when I unlock with physical key… which literally ejects from the door when you pull the handle. Mine hit me in stomach and fell to the ground. Good way to lose a key!

…Unlocked the truck, opened the drivers door, turned the fob off (hold lock, press unlock twice, blinks 4 times), put the fob in the truck, closed the door, locked the door with the valet key. Thenunlocked the truck with the valetkey. No alarm. Turned the fobback on, closed the door, lockedthe truck with the fob, no alarm.

ps nice ride op. I keep my key in zipped pocket.

Lol Have somebody secure the key to your body.
I mean you can keep an Apple strapped on no problem.
