Cimarron (1931). On OK website. 4th Oscar winner for best picture, 1st western to win it, although half the film was not a western. A good watch if only for the scene with the 5K extras.

Angie Tribeca (2016). Max. Completed S2, not as funny as S1.

Grand Hotel (1932). On OK website. A best picture Oscar winner. Greta Garbo shines but I found the film rather boring until the last 15 minutes. Synopsis: A group of very different individuals staying at a luxurious hotel in Berlin deal with each of their respective dramas.

Cavalcade (1933). Internet Archive. Best picture Oscar winner (plus best director and art direction). Bounces around a a lot - didn't like that, good acting otherwise.
IMDB Synopsis: A portrayal of the triumphs and tragedies of two English families, the upper-crust Marryots and the working-class Bridgeses, from 1899 to 1933.

Mutiny on the Bounty (1935). Internet Archive. Won best picture Oscar. Doesn’t follow actual events accurately, but good acting and non-stop action.
IMDB Synopsis: First mate Fletcher Christian leads a revolt against his sadistic commander, Captain Bligh, in this classic seafaring adventure, based on the real-life 1789 mutiny.

The Life of Emile Zola (1937). On OK website. 1938 Best Picture Oscar winner. Good acting but a letdown in that this film was mostly about Zola’s involvement in the Dreyfus Affair. There was no mention of his extramarital affair that produced his only children whom he loved and cared for after the affair terminated.

Uncle Buck (1989). PopTV. That was pretty funny. An 80’s film I missed watching in my early 20’s.

You Can’t Take It with You (1938). YouTube Movies. Won two Oscars, Best Picture and Best Director. Funny and very entertaining.

Rebecca (1940). Internet Archive. Won an Oscar for Best Picture. Joan Fontain was excellent. IMDB short synopsis: A self-conscious woman juggles adjusting to her new role as an aristocrat's wife and avoiding being intimidated by his first wife's spectral presence.

Grosse Pointe Blank (1997). Watch TCM. Good acting and story. Excellent soundtrack with music from 80’s and early 90’s.

The Lady Eve (1941). On OK site. Entertaining film with Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda; both in their 30’s but they look so young.

Citizen Kane (1941). Internet Archive. Good acting and directing but found the story line mostly average. I don't understand how the mom could give away her son like that.

Meshes of the Afternoon (1943). Raygun. An experimental short film. Good watch.

Loki (2023). Disney. Completed 2nd and final season. Good watch for TVA knowledge, which is a big presence in new Deadpool film.

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). AMC Theater. Very entertaining with lots of funny one-liners. I was disappointed in treatment/absence of a key character from previous two Deadpool films. Maybe I just missed a reference to that character. Will definitely rewatch when it becomes available to stream.

The Big House (1930). OK. Good story line but slow paced. Did win two Oscars, for writing and sound.

I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932). Internet Archive. The most action and my fav of the three. Nominated for three Oscars but won none. Still, a good watch, and based on a true story.

The Prisoner of Shark Island (1936). Plex. Based on Dr Samuel Mudd, the doctor convicted of conspiracy to kill Lincoln. Has misrepresented and omitted facts but good acting and a good watch.

How Green was my Valley (1941). OK. Sad ending but good watch.

Casablanca (1942). Max. A rewatch - I had forgot the storyline. A cult classic. They never say, “Play it again, Sam.”

Hawaii Five-O (1968). Paramount+. Cocoon, the pilot episode. Leslie Nielsen was in it.

Mrs. Miniver (1942). OK. A classic, winner of six Oscars. Very effective at showing disdain against the warring Germans without naming them.

About the only part of the pilot I really liked was:

Chin: Chin Ho Kelly strikes again!
Steve: sit down and shut up.

The rest of the series is pretty good, though. My wife and I are rewatching it right now.

The pilot is kinda weird - that orange suit reminded me of The Gimp in Pulp Fiction.

I watched most of the shows when they came out with my dad and brothers. I know I missed the first two seasons or so. I am going to go through the seasons until I get to an episode I remember.

Do you know about the ‘banned’ episode, “Bored, She Hung Herself” ?

I like the first 4 seasons with Zulu as Kono the best. His replacements in subsequent seasons leave a little something to be desired.

I had heard about that banned episode but I wasn't able to find it with a bit of quick searching on the internet.
It sounds like it's also outside the show's normal MO, with lots of dialogue and not much action, so that could be part of the reason it isn't more readily available.

Did anyone ever see the Magnum episode where Thomas said he was questioned by "some clown named Mcgarrett". I think it was an early episode but Jack Lord does not make an appearance.

Iceman (1984). OK. A neanderthal is thawed and reanimated. Turned out to be a rewatch for I remembered the ending. Entertaining flick, with Timothy Hutton and Danny Glover.

Shadow of a Doubt (1943). Classic Movie Time. Hitchcock said this was his favorite film he made. Not my favorite of his to watch but still a good watch. The storyline seemed to jump too much. Loosely based on serial killer Earle Nelson.

Double Indemnity (1944). Classic Movies. Very well done crime-drama. Nominated for 7 Oscars, but won none.

Lost in Translation (2003). Max. An ok lovey dovey film. Scarlett Johansson was superb, and only 17 during filming.

Arsenic and Old Lace (1944). WatchTCM. A bit silly but entertaining. The pro movie reviewers say Gary Grant over-acted but his acting looked good to me.

Walkabout (1971). Cinema Box. Very interesting film. I had to read film reviews to understand some of what I saw.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983). Max. These films need no introduction. Saw the original film when it came out and did not jump on the bandwagon to watch the sequels. Never got into the storytelling part and found character development to be subpar.

Les Enfants du Paradis (US-Children of Paradise; UK-Children in the Gods; 1945). Plex/OK. French film made during Nazi occupation. French critics regard it as the best French film. Superb acting and directing; was pulling for a happier ending.

Roma Città Aperta ( Rome, Open City; 1945). Max. Italian war drama film. Another superb acting and directing film, this one with a tragic and somewhat abrupt ending.

Both these films were nominated for Best Screenplay Oscars but, sadly, neither won. Les Enfants is a two-part film but Plex only streams the first part, an apparent oversight on their part. I had to catch the 2nd part on OK website.

    American Honey (2016). Max.
    Paterson (2016). Freevee.

Both these films are on Independent’s list of 47 brilliant films that did not receive an Oscar nomination. The first one on the list I had never even heard of, so I saw that first, and it was a very good one. I was always looking to see what would happen next. The film came out in 2016 and I decided to watch the only other film on the list released in 2016, and that was Paterson. This one, at 2 hours, I found the film a bit on the bore side, but Adam Driver, as usual, is very good. The main comedy element is carried by the character, Donny, and I would like to see a film based on his life more than Patterson, Driver’s character.

(No, there is no spelling error here - “Paterson” is the name of the town, and “Patterson” is Driver’s character. The irony is covered in the film.)
