I tow my travel trailer and occasionally a car or 2 among other things. The most weight we pull is the Travel trailer at 8000 lbs loaded. Don’t want to pull more. E3CDADB8-1DB3-43F0-A0C6-C344B10D9E4B.jpgEF7D2D36-C92A-4B47-A8DB-CA31055A5ACD.jpg

Finally installed the p3 and esp plate last weekend. Had the p3 for almost a year before I got around to putting it in.

Nice! I installed mine like 6 months ago and have yet to use it. I’m excited because last time I had trouble stopping a heavy trailer without the brake controller.

Will it be a problem if I tow my land cruiser on a flatbed that doesn’t have working brakes? The drive is pretty flat with zero to no grades up or down.

That would not be safe (or legal). That’s a lot of weight pushing you and you wouldn’t stop safely or efficiently if you were forced to stop in a hurry.

It is night and day difference between the p3 and the stock brake controller

I previously had NO controller so anything should be a vast improvement!

I don't tow often, but today towed my daughter's Beetle back from NY to FL.
18 hour trip. Truck took it like a champ, but it squats a bit more than when I did the same trip with the 2018.

I have to ask, is the p3 an easy swap? Is the wiring a direct plug and play?

Is that an auto retracting line on the wall under the TV? I know nothing about ice fishing…

Sort of! It's just a bunch of line on a spool, it's just not auto retracting lol. Gotta yank it up by hand. They have bells in them so you can hear when a fish takes it

1st time pulling my 18 x 7.5 trailer with about 1K lb of load. Averaged 10.6 mpg during the 85-mile round trip.

Initially, I set the brake controller gain at 5, but felt the trailer was pushing the truck so I gradually increased gain and ended up at 6.

The truck gulps gas, but very comfortable going uphill.

I have yet to setup my andersen anti-sway bars.

First tow home from storage with the new Tundra. I was blown away with the low end torque & effortless power!
I will have to drop my hitch down to level the camper, but was totally blown away with my first tow of 20 miles. Got 10.4 mpg, so similar to the old 5.7l as expected.
BTW that is a 7k camper with 980lbs of tongue weight. The air suspension leveled the truck up nicely after lash up. Better power and better braking than the old 2008 Tundra that served me well.

I had just recently learned there was a hybred Tundra, and wondered if it could tow... I hadn't gotten around to looking them up.
