Lmfao. Oh I know how that goes. There's a few areas of a few creeks and rivers back home where the NYDWC makes you cut your barbs, catch and release only. But go up or down stream a half mile or mile and your gtg .... Government has no clue what it's doing.

Anyone got any recommendations on brake line kits/upgrades? I need to replace those hard lines and might as well do more than just those...

I got the steel braided one off of rock auto. Only have the rear one installed at the moment, but there is a noticable difference in my pedal. Much firmer

I passed a First Gen broke down on the side of I40 today on my way to Nashville. It wasn't a LBJ failure either. The poor truck looked terrible. Gonna guess timing belt.

Not sure if anybody else uses these but these are by far the best wipes I've used to get rid of that grease/dead skin that's on highly touched areas of the truck
    IMG_4613.jpg

here some before and after. It requires zero elbow grease. A few wipes and everything just comes off. And it doesn't leave a slick film. It dries proper.

Got a dyno appointment to measure the base 93 octane VF Tune. Won't know the true power numbers until July 22nd. Full write up with results after.

So far it feels quicker. No full throttle runs yet. Updated shift map hangs onto gears a little longer. I noticed under normal cruise it will shift between 2,000-3,000 RPM depending on throttle position.

Noticed in the program there is a more aggressive map if O/D is turned off. Looks like it takes the TCU input of O/D button to change the map.

Haven't tried it yet but I may go for a more spirited drive soon.

Quick trip with Dale before I pull the camper and dive into truck project's.

Left Amarillo in a thunderstorm and flash flooding, with only light rain falling when I pulled into Bugbee Canyon on the NW end of Lake Meredith. The skies cleared for a great sunset to grill a steak under and the gamble about the weather paid off as we had the entire cove to ourselves.

Interesting about the O/D off. I've only driven with it off on my non tuned 03. Now I want to jump my tuned 06's battery and try this out lol.

(Yes @Mr.bee it needs another jump...and the front diff leak.)

No oil on my shoes so. That could make a big difference as well lol. But the pedal is not as firm as the night we did it, but vastly better than it was before.

Rib a little? Maybe. The only time I'm going to point and laugh is if you ignore someone else's sound advice, or proceed with work when you aren't confident about what you're doing. If the instructions are there, I'll at least skim 'em to look for any gotchas/differences.

I've learned so many little tricks and shit over the years. I think my brain exploded the first time I saw someone swap out disc brake pads without removing the calipers. I've had plenty of older vehicles where you couldn't do that, but ... stupid shit like that.

Today was suspension day: LBJ replacement; new Bilstein 4600 shocks; and 2" drop shackles.

I'm liking the stance and the ride and handling are improved.

Whats going on here? Do you have some frame bentage going on or do my eyes deceive me? The bed/cab gap is tighter at the bottom than at the top and it looks like your bed is sagging at the rear. Maybe its just the angle of the pic or sumpin. Carry on. Truck looks good mang.

No, unfortunately your eyes are spot on. The truck has had two rear-enders in its prior life. The one that caused the frame tweak was severe enough that the bed was replaced. I plan to get it on a frame rig to see what can be done. It is about 1" low right rear. I wanted to put a cap on it but the spreading panel gap would be huge at the top of a cap. But otherwise, the truck is A1 and I bought it knowing this issue. The frame is clean as a new penny (0.0 rust) and the truck only has 105K miles. It steers and tracks perfectly.

Get some fat chicks to jump up n down on the front of the bed at the cab and see if she'll straighten out. :D

Just a couple at a time though, don't wanna bend the frame the other way. :D

I'm fortunately real low on fat chicks. I think it will be a simple tweak back. There is no crease or obvious damage point in the frame. I tried unbolting the bed to see if I could simply shim it back in line, but then the rear bumper is out. The bumper has some light damage as well and ought to be replaced.
