That route is pretty dry all the way to the cam tower. Hmmm

I’ll have mine, unused, as a spare if all goes well this weekend. Have a spare controller too. Figure I’ll use a 7-4 adapter if I ever need it but my friend’s trailer has brakes and unless I get a cheapo kayak trailer I figure just go with 7 all the way.

Shouldn't be too bad. I've done a few trailer hitch and wiring installs, also trailer light wiring installs.

Did I ever mention I hate wiring?

Ah, wtf? Really. I’ll fiddle around with it more in the coming months and see when it engages and if that auto lsd button will make it stop. I tried to turn that on when I was in 4wd but it didn’t seem to engage? Fun to have a unicorn, but not fun when it kills power when you are doing donuts. Good news is that it rarely gives me any issues during daily driving.
thanks @shifty`. I’ll probably end up fixing this for OCDs sake.

I know the taco guys have to hold down one or more of the nanny buttons to disable them. I'd read you user manual to be sure.

Definitely not as knowledgeable as you folks when it comes to trailer hookups but do you or others have suggestions for the below member if his 02 trailer converter wiring checks out as far as replacement ?

I was hoping to hear from you on things. I’m looking to get mine done this weekend and debating a bunch of things with myself. Do I fuse or even fuse and relay the OEM Parking light circuit and OEM reverse circuit off clean power, do I prep for my SS3 reverse pods now or even just wire them up since bolting them in will be easy or wait on my switch-pros install which is waiting on my 2nd battery install which is waiting on me to finish the shed and move all my crap in so I have space and can get organized…

I think I might do a quick direct connect for now and make it fancier later, focus on the brake controller since that’s a safety issue for this little utility trailer which is all I’m towing these days.

anyway, looking right now and I might hit you up for thoughts this weekend as I progress. Ignition switching power to the trailer seems like a key one. I ran 10 gauge which was overkill but it fit OK in the sumi.187 terminal and connector so I figure why not. Ground is only 12 but shorter where I plan to attach to the frame. Gotta grind a bit and then paint over on that one which will take some work as it is.

    It's why I haven't put a DD in mine. A knob is a 100% must have. I can do w/o everything else. Plus it's funny seeing a $150 deck pushing 2 15s.

Honestly, I can't find any dripping or draining from inside the timing compartment. Tricky area to inspect for cracks but nothing seems amiss.

Replaced that seal, and cleaned up all the oil as seen in my photos. Will monitor I guess!

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Spring man tinance completed today with a drain n fill of the trans (2000-A340F-3.75qts.) and a greasing of the entire driveline.
Apparently I am lucky with greasing because I never have had to move the truck forward or backwards to get to the Zerks :notsure:, nor had any trouble with getting on the one fitting that's troublesome.
Entire frame was covered in oil and I got filthy. Who does that? ;)
    Ready for summer shenanigans.

Spanner wrench showed up today instead of Monday. I guess I need to pull an all nighter, adjusting the front end.

    Up.

:help: what's the best way to adjust my coilovers off the truck? The spanner wrench I have was making it a bitch to do on the truck. And I lost the one that came with my Kings (which makes it easy to do on the truck).

I got tired of the CarPlay USB cable from the new JVC head unit laying in the passenger floor board. Crutchfield suggested this Scoshce PowerVolt Dash Port. This part provides 1) a pass-through for the CarPlay USB-A connection and; 2) a separate USB-C power plug. I decided to use it to replace the lower power port in the lower dash. I made a couple of pigtails and grabbed the 2 smallest PosiTaps out of the kit I bought.
Because I didn't know how to remove the power ports and covers, I mangled both covers getting them out and had to order a new one. Once it arrived, I re-installed the OEM upper port and put the Scosche port in the lower opening.
Then I used the PosiTaps and pigtails to tap into the power and ground wires for the original port without removing the original connector. So, this upgrade is theoretically reversible. (@shifty` should be proud of me.)
Next, I connected the CarPlay USB plug to the Scosche USB-A cord and ziptied those up out of the way.
I plugged the pigtails onto the appropriate "+" and "-" terminals on the back of the Scosche port and tested everything. Finally, I buttoned everything back up with a brand new set of trim plugs.
Here's what it looks like now. I still need a cord plugged in for CarPlay, but this is much cleaner than having the head unit cable laying in the floor board. Having the separate USB-C power in the same port is a plus.
