Nice, too bad king doesn’t make the rears like those off the shelf, I know they make anything custom but there’s no complete front and rear king shock setup you can buy.

It is definitely disappointing, but I went with Fox 2.0 for the rear shocks. Not so worried about matching appearance wise, just performance. Would be sweet to have some bypass kings in the rear though. I looked in to getting KIngs for the rear, they were gonna be like $1000 for two, so I passed...

I don't see anything with the correct sizing and travel for a first gen there. For reference a first gen 5100 rear shock made for 0-1" of lift hits 13.8" collapsed and 22.4" extended. Closest fit there is 16 collapsed and 24 extended if you are running blocks.

@hosseinkaveh front shock choice really depends on what you want your truck to do vs what you want to spend. If you want a little lift on budget an OME shock and spring combo. You could also consider 5100s but those tend to leave people wanting more.

Leaf springs and driveshaft wearing out sounds odd. What state do you live in and how many miles on your truck?

Ah I see, check out the king 2.0 smoothies, they’ve got a 15” to 23”. That outta work.
Of course, they’ll be happy to make a custom set too.

I think I've decided on a lift finally. I'm thinking toytech boss coilovers and Bilstein 5160s with wheelers off-road progressive aal

I just wish wheelers sold the boss COs so I could order em all together on black Friday for the deals/discounts

Anybody ever convert their regular rear view mirror into a power mirror with temp and compass and auto dim etc?

Well, I gotta check them with another mechanic to make sure, even though the truck has 298K miles on it! Honestly, to me it feels more like ball joints or arms or even bearings (anything from the wheels) rather than the drive shaft. They told me it's not anything serious and I can drive it a couple years with no issues. Not sure yet.

And forgot to mention, the truck has been in WA the whole life with 298k miles.

Hacked on my seat belt shoulder guides with the multi-tool (removed about 1/8”). The blade was pretty dull and didn’t afford me much precision. I’ll come back and clean it up later with a fresh blade.

This is a fix for slow retracting seat belts. They fluff up and get caught in the tight gap while retracting. Sprayed the belt, guides, and the retraction coil (opened the cover) with PB Silicone.

Like brand new again! Zips back nicely.

I need to do that. I came out to a dead battery cause my door didn't close due to the seat belt.

Bummer man. Just be careful when taking the cover off the spring roll. That plastic screw clip is fragile.

Also, next time I’d put a piece of thin metal between the belt and guide to allow more precision. That PB Silcone is nice. Probs double up on another spray coat this weekend and spray the belt as well as the guide. Its non-staining with Teflon.

Not a problem for my side, but when passengers get out they slam the door right on the belt buckle hanging out the door. Tweaks me.

No opinions on toytech boss coilovers?

Seems like the best bang for my buck since the Bilstein 6100s apparently only give the AC a 1 inch lift for some reason. And that's just unacceptable for that kinda money, especially since I plan to run an aal and 5160s in the rear. And I keep hearing bad things about 5100s for off-road on a tundra despite them beeing decent on my tacos. But I did really light offroadibg then and plan to get more into the sport now that I have 4wd. I just wish I still had a rear locker or at least LSD.

They are a firm shock (IMO) very nice for street/towing/hauling. They are digressive style? Versus progressive. What I’ve studied its hard to get a shock that does both street and off road equally well. Then comes cost. These dual reservoir shocks for off road seem very nice (never experienced them). The concept makes sense. Pricey.

Being a stock guy went with the Billys upgrade to the OEM originals when new. I did run Monroes Premium as my second set of shocks. They were very Cadillac style (like it too). Seemed nicer on sand rumbles and such than Billys, but you might get heckled on the forum for riding Monroe but who cares.

    great question. Lol

I need to get some better photos of new ride height. The back sits an inch or so? higher than the front when unloaded. When loaded, the rear is just s smudge higher than the front.

I only have two photos. One is with it unloaded. One is with it loaded. Not the best photos though. I may be hitting some trails tomorrow, so if I do, I’ll get some new better height showing photos.

Went to U-Pull-It this morning to look at a 2004 Tundra which had recently come in. Wasted trip. I have never seen a vehicle so crashed up. Front end was destroyed, rear end mostly destroyed, drivers side rear door was crushed.

I would have taken out the captain's seats, but someone had already removed the seat cushion from the driver's side.

Doubled up on the silcone spray on the seat belts. Worked the swivel apparatus where the guide articulates. That needs to get lubed so it squares off, otherwise the belt binds at an angle.

Thinking about this rear diff breather extension. The transmission and tranfer case are located up high (in engine next to battery) so why not the rear diff? Any recommendations on where to relocate? Tricks and tips?

My guess is the new fitting is obtained from plumbing aisle? New hose from auto store? Reuse old breather up high?
