Got done pressing out the old UBJ, and pressing in the new adapter right as the rain hit. :)

Used a torch to pressurize the tube with the ball joint stud stuck in it. Came out with a loud pop, and a splattering to the face shield. Lol

I don't know why, but keeping busy and working on those trucks feel relatively therapeutic to me. (As long as you don't have a deadline for when you have to finish lol)

    Same here. Its enjoyable.

Except this time I have a deadline. The 4th.

I put in for vacation the 13th-15th in case I need it. I figured I should put in for it, and cancel. My luck somebody would take off those days, and I'd be screwed over the barrel backwards every way from Sunday.

Well, my dumb ass bought a jug of 5w-20 and a jug of 5w-30 instead of 2 of 5w-30.

will it be life or death for me to run to town with my oil a quart and a half low or is that a no-no? Seems like it shouldn’t make much difference, but I’d hate to wreck something.

    Thoughts?

Look for an auto paint supplier local to you and give them a call to see if they can mix up a can of color matched 'touch-up' spray paint.

I bought mine from Mac's Distributing near Sacramento, CA. They called it their JE line and the label on it shows it's a PPG paint.

They had an option for a single stage or dual (base/color & clear). I bought the single but I have a can of clear coat I'll apply over it anyways.

Edit: earlier today gave a quick 600grit wetsand, shot another coat of color and then did 2 coats of clear.

I'm weird and wouldn't mix them nor run to town that low on oil. Call a friend for a delivery or Uber to and fro? Amazon delivery? Walmart delivery?

Tent survived the night. Shortly after my friend left the wind picked up. Continuous wind of 25mph with guts up to 40.

My stakes all came out of the ground. My hogties saved my tent. Its shifted quite a bit through the night.

Found the right taillight was missing a bolt, left taillight has two different sized bolts. Removed more parts. Added more Noico. Cleaned lots of screws, inside of vents under the carpet. Re-installed spare tire holder. Ran out of aluminum tape.

I did 80mil and then covered with 315mil on the doors. This also gave me the chance to find out my driver door lock was disconnected from the cylinder, which is why key didn’t unlock that door. Fixed!

Also found a 10 year old ROTC pen, sunflower seeds and some mini Snickers wrappers. Previous owner only owned up to the pen lol

I’m anxious to drive it again!! Shame Garage has owned it since 12/24.

Maybe you can plant those Sunflower Seeds this Spring? Its a small act of Kindness for the Little Birdies so they can eat the new seeds and continue the Circle of Life. It will also offset your 2021 carbon credítz for using non-organic sound deadener.

@Darkness @FirstGenVol @assassin10000 @anybody else with experience on this issue.
    20210102_151534.jpg

Drivers side jamb nut is rusted to the thread, and will NOT budge. Tie rod is real tight, but coming loose.

Ball joint inside the rack boot is lightly rusty. Will need a full overhaul on tie rod ends eventually.

What's the consensus on all parts here? Things I plan on needing soon.
    1. Better Outer Tie rods (putting on cheapy o'reilys to get back on the road.)
    2. Rack boots.
    3. Inner tie rods?
    4. Whatever piece that ball joint inside the boot is.
What denotes needing a new steering rack? @lsaami
