We'll... Sounds like I might be seeing what I can do to restore them. I think there is metal behind the plastic. Maybe I can just strip them and have our berliner guys spray them with minimal texture. It's a thought. Man I'm cheap.

I taped off on the truck and sanded most of my black off and then Rustoleum Bed Liner Shpray’d all in one swoop. Holding nicely after two years! Strong like Ox.

I bet that's where I got the idea. The issue is that mine look to have shrunk. Not sure how that's possible, but it seems to be. I don't think they'd look decent unless the plastic comes all off. Maybe I can find some decent parts in the yard.

There is metal behind the rubberized plastic crap that chips away. A few guys have managed to pull, strip, paint them in the past. They must have serious patience because mine were not recognizable by the time they came off.

Yeah mine have shrunk, but water is getting in there anyways. Mine shrank about and 1/8” on each end. Rubber still good.

They weren't too horrible. I paid $50 each and got free shipping through that Dealership program.

Part #'s, 68160-0C010 and 68210-0C010. Surprised to hear DC's are twice the price.

I put this dog blocker thing in yesterday. Tuco looked at it for 5 seconds and jumped over to sit on the console. Guess I'll try it in the Element to see if it works there.

Well it's been a while. Got all my O2 sensors and MAF sensor done and the injectors too. Truck runs great and the power band feels much smoother. I haven't really checked on the fuel mileage since I've been doing some towing. She's in the shop this week for a noise and vibration coming from the right rear. I'm fairly certain its the wheel bearing but I've been working too much OT to dig into it. Next up will be a timing belt. I'm going with the Aisin Kit. Any recommendations for additional items to do while I'm in there?

Something to try... give the pup a flat area back there. Before I made the base I used 2 sleeping bags in the lower section to hold up a piece of plywood for a flat pad.

My “dog blocker thing” has an option to open up the middle section. He seemed happy to be in back with the middle section open and a flat pad.

Mine has the zipper too. Part of the problem is he wants to be with humans, the other part is he loves to see where we are going. He wants to sit on the console and watch, its very cute but not safe.

I'll try to flatten out the land back there and see if it helps.

Build an elevated perch such that he lays at about your eye level. He gets to see from the back and you get to directly smell his bad breath. Fab up some wide mesh netting like used for storage as a safety measure and containment device. Win win as Tuc’s will be afforded 360° views from Perch del Darkness.

That's exactly who he was named after because he came from Mexico and was acting all nutty when we met him. Although prior to Breaking Bad, I liked the name Tuco for another character who was a bit crazy but more optimistic.
    6a00d8341c2b7953ef01b7c90162ac970b.jpg

It fits him since Tuco is "the ugly" and its also a slang word for terrorists in Spanish. He was quite the terrorists the first 6 months.

That movie is from several years before I was born. Great is great, no matter the age. Look at the shit that gets turned out the last 2 decades....shitty comic book movie after shitty comic book movie with poor story writing (with a few exceptions) and an over-reliance on CGI. They can have it and I'll take the "old" flicks any day of the week...

I made my wife watch it with me last year. Even on our big fancy TV the film looks great, and the music from Ennio Morricone sounded awesome. She went in with "my dad liked these stupid movies" and came out with "you say there are more?"

Maybe this week I'll make her watch a fistful of dollars.

I've only seen parts of it. It's 4 hours long. I need to sit down and watch the entire thing.

I like a lot of movies from the late 90's until around ~2010. The last 10 years have been horrible for new films. They have officially run out of ideas. I do like some older movies but there are many older action films that are extremely cheesy.

Today I jacked the front end up, removed the wheel speed sensor, and watched the tone ring inside while I spun the wheel. There is nothing visibly damaged or wrong with it from what I can see. It wasn't even that dirty in there. I thought about spraying something in there while I spun the wheel but figured that may not be advised. Still no clue what would be causing ABS to go off. I thought about seeing if I can buy a replacement speed sensor direct from Denso to save some money. I don't know what else it could be. I've tried 3 different sensors and none fixed it (the original, a used replacement Denso off ebay, and a new aftermarket from Amazon).

    It's just under 3 hours...

That's the 80s for you...but there are some low-cheese gems even in the 80s (First Blood, Die Hard, Aliens, Indiana Jones, terminator, Predator, Mad Max II etc etc) and at least the stunts were real and some cheese doesn't ruin the action. There are plenty of older action movies (pre-80s) that are fantastic too...Bullitt jumps to mind....probably the greatest car chase scene in a movie ever.

Have you traced the wiring from the sensor back in the off-chance there is a problem there?

Did I guess the wrong movie? Google is saying 4 hours which seems unlikely..

    upload_2021-3-30_13-41-13.jpg

Yes, I've done that and haven't seen anything. The wiring harness is protected by that crinkle plastic stuff so you can't actually see it. I'll take a closer look though.
