What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I installed the desert does it seat jackers with the molle panel (super easy install) and the amp-research bed step that my buddy sent me from his 2017 that he sold. Took a little modification to get it but it’s in and it’s great!!

 

Added some weight to the bed. It has been sleeting since yesterday morning, and the whole city is covered in ice. Kids were so excited to play in the snow, but we only got crummy ice. At least it was easy to sled down the hill in the backyard. I even pulled them around on their sleds using the lawnmower. We never get to do this kind of stuff here. Been a fun day!



My Duratracs are KILLING IT on these ice covered streets. In 4Hi, I haven’t even slipped from a dead stop on an incline. I’m gonna head back out with my tow strap and see if anyone needs pulled out of a ditch. Most people here have no experience driving in these conditions.

 

I'll stick to what I have here lol Maybe @mgm16trdpro and his Pitbulls? Definitely the meatiest tires I've seen on here.

 

Today I got this pic of my truck from the dealer. Has tons of other codes besides the 3 knock sensor codes at once. (Pre Collision system malfunction, abs, vsc, trailer brake controller malfunction, traction control) It also would not go into overdrive when I was taking it in to the dealers yesterday. They are claiming that another larger harness needs to be replaced and estimating $5500 Yah me. I only have 735 miles on it. State Farm insurance website, app and phones are not working to make a claim due to the Texas Power outages. W000t. Good times. Sigh.

That’s the 2021 TRD in your signature your talking about? Shouldn’t that be under warranty if it is? Or are you talking about an older truck you own?

Like two days on their lot. 3 weeks at my place and was fine for 715 miles so, yeah I can't really debate it.

We are having an interesting time in Central Texas! We received about 8" of snow last night. Expecting another storm tomorrow. Power out for most of the day and had to revert to making coffee the ghetto way.

Received Alea Leather seats on Tuesday. Worked on Wednesday and Thursday to get them in. To say that this is a PITA is an understatement. I still have the large part of the rear to do, but taking a break because of the weather and my hands are really sore.

While I had the seats out, I took the opportunity to clean behind the rear seats. My dog rides with me a good bit, so I put down some toolbox matting to hopefully make it easier to clean up. I also installed door protectors from WeatherTech and the fully coverage Husky rear liner.

 

I gotta say I haven't found anything they're not good in. Both my atv and truck are almost impossible to get stuck. However I will say I am dreading having to drive into work since the roads are literally a sheet of ice right now. I'm just hoping by the time I gotta go the temps rise enough to melt some of it. I do wish the treads still looked the way they did here when I first put them on.

 

Run your VIN Number through Toyota and find out when the truck was built and when they dealer took delivery. It sounds like the truck sat around in the dealers lot and that's where the mice invaded your truck and caused the damage. I would fight that tooth and nail. Call toyota if you have too.

 

He has already stated it was only on dealer lot for 2 days and his house for the last 3 weeks when the problem developed.

 

This was a little over a month ago, probably last time I didnt have snow stuck in the treads. They're not bad considering I put about 35k on them but I'm guessing in another 5k, 10k at most I'll need to replace.

You guys in TX are definitely having some unusual weather.

 

That sucks. I've been through that with an RV and the storage place had rabbits and rodents. After ~$5k in damage, I learned what I should have done to prevent the damn rodents. Promptly sold the RV (wife wasn't happy with the craziness).

Sorry this happened, I know how horrible it feels.

 

Took mine to the car wash to get rid of rock salt and gunk.

Thanks!! I have them wired up to my Matt Gecko LED bed lighting kit, I mounted a switch in the back of the bed, power is ran to the battery. So when I'm camping, I just hit the switch and LED's, backup lights & LED bars light up! I then tapped the positive line on the reverse light, so they turn on in reverse or with turning on my LED's in the bed.
