painted and installed my front shackles. Just got my Tundra back in August. Have been wanting to slowly and surely start doing subtle (at first) modifications to make it my own. Green is for our local team, Caddo Mills Foxes. I've gotten confirmation today that my motofab 3" front 2" rear leveling kit has shipped. CANT WAIT to get that installed, so I can go pick up my new tires. I love the ride, but I'm so ready to get rid of the highway treads and get into a solid A/T.

I like the little details, and dont currently have the budget for major overhauls. lol.

Looks good! Lot of little things you can do that really personalize your truck. I had painted my front tow hooks blue and I was really amazed oh how much I smiled walking out to the truck and just having that peaking out from the front. Yours will definitely be more visible but I expect you will enjoy them just as much.

Sprayed 2.5 gallons of fluid film in every crevice of the truck. Gotta save this baby from those mid Michigan winters! Got my setup dialed in perfectly. Wool wax gun, HF compressor and hose, all worked like a charm after some setting adjustments. Hearing the fluid film and shooting at 65 psi was perfect on this chilly evening.

    PXL_20231108_233552953.jpg

Then I installed my Taco tunes cat shield. Much maligned on this site, but without any evidence that I could find that the plate does not work, I saved the $300 over the next aluminum option with similar specs. Install was a breeze, I like the security bolts. They're a PITA, which is a good thing! Lol

    PXL_20231109_053627379.jpg

Last thing of the night was installing my aluminum predator side steps. Love these! Don't mind the dirty truck and garage. Def need a wash down for both after spraying the fluid film

Next up, driver side grab handle

@Henry1jg very nicely done. A local guy has the same shield, used for sale, that I maybe able to get quite a bit cheaper, with security hardware. On fence though as you said not a popular choice with the group. Why is that do you suppose? Finally, my truck has the OEM TRD front skid plate, do you know if that Taco shield will work? Steps look great btw.

According to Taco Tunes website, it says it works with stock skid plates & aftermarket ones.

I guess I shouldn’t have provided the link, my bad lol.

I honestly had no idea about the customer service. Never bought anything from them before. So, no experience there. But appreciate the advise.

I've purchased this exact kit a few times, 1 for me and 1 for a friend in MS, no issues here.

Been some reviews popping up about them not lasting anymore. Quality definitely tanked. They were great when I first got them, then started to flicker and finally burned out.

Bummer good price for them too, I purchased it June 2021 so might be onto something there.

The plate doesn't cover the back section of the rear 2 cats. But it's also nearly $300 cheaper than the comparable aluminum alternative. Since I couldn't find any examples of the Taco tunes shield not working, I used that $300 on other mods

I'm not sure on how it will work w the plate. I don't have the TRD plate, I have a basic steel plate that is much smaller that came w my truck. They don't even come close to each other

Hauled 4 sheets of .5” drywall for my fireplace build and got to work. This is labeled “ultralight” …. Yeah my arse ultra light. This stuff sucks to haul and handle.

Yes you are so right. I had them on our 5th gen 4runner (c load) and I had them on my Tacoma both C & E load when I was wheeling hard. For now though in my life all I need are plush comfy light C load 6 ply guys. If you’re not a hardcore wheeler they are such a great tire for a DD. Can’t beat em

*Edit: You said 17” not 18” only 17” I know of for stock wheels is the RW wheels.

Able to run these on stock wheels? Or you running spacers to push em out a bit?

Long time thread stalker, new member.

This forum is a wealth of information. I was able to completely chrome delete the interior thanks to this forum.

Went with a mix of Meso Customs for shifter area, AJT for knobs, and OEM vent rings.

I would post pictures of the interior but I’m still learning how to navigate the early 2000’s style forum. Not really trying to upload every single picture to an album just for a minor thread post…unless there is another way

Now there is an extremely long note in my iPhone for all the little mods I had no idea existed until I found all of you.

Just wanted to say thank you to the community .

Stock height TRD OR (156k miles) did some massaging but no cmc required for these +35 17x8.5 wheels on 315/70/17 ko2’s. It does not touch the cab mount at full lock but I’ll do a cmc myself anyway

The previous owner of my truck had installed a cheap Amazon LED light kit. A couple were out and a few were flashing intermittently when I bought the truck. I went to the auto parts store and bought name brand LED replacements for all of them. Pricey? Yep, and will likely last the life of the truck and never irritate me. Money well spent. :)
