How hard was it to separate the bumper once you had all the screws off? I couldn't pull it apart. It was like it was frozen on or something. I only have 25000 miles on my 2018 so its not like its rusted on or anything like that.

Shouldn't be that hard. You are removing the nuts (4 per side) not removing screws.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    as promised

<...I posted this in the S/C thread also, so pardon the duplicate.>

    S/C related oil crap.

the oil on the right is 0w-20 - this is back when I had the S/C installed (how time flies!). dyno pulls, etc.
the one on the left is 5w-30. it has 5k miles of the 77.5mm pulley.
The ole girl still burns ZERO oil.

    read 'em and weep boys.

5w-30 has LESS wear!? (clutching my pearls)

Costco oil is GTG. 5w-30 is VGTG
I searched for similar Amsoil reports & found a couple...decided not to post them here as the comparison is profound.
And you never want to lather up the Amsoil boys.

Very easy. Tough to access the nuts with various length sockets and ratcheting wrenches. But once the nuts were off, just a little muscle pulling it forward released it from the truck frame easily.
I only removed the nuts from one side and left 1 nut still threaded on the other side 1/4” so the whole bumper won’t fall off the truck. This way you can just do one side at a time without pulling entire bumper off.

Just purchased one directly from from Teq Offroad. Its $49.99 on their site, no need to go to Yota Nation (unless you want to). Here's the link:

If you're willing to put in the work, then just like anything else, it can be done for much less since you provide the labor. @2020Platinum did make a DIY YouTube video:

Have you ever considered getting RCV Axles?
I run them in my Jeep and have had pretty good luck with them.

These are 300m LT axles no issues here with them. RCV's work awesome ran them on the old mans. We'll see what we throw in when we redo the suspension.

I agree, but unfortunately I have to carefully choose how I spend my time due to my career choice. Time prepping my truck for ceramic coating vs spending time with my children.

It’s not like mowing the lawn…

Paying someone else is well worth it in my particular case.

I was just going to ask that. Other than a problem from RCV with leaking boots (tiny holes) no problem with the axles have held up well to the lockers

I completely understand. I just wanted to let others that have the time and opportunity cost that there is a cheaper alternative.

All of those wear metals are so low that I am not sure you can say wear is happening at all. Here is my 2000 Tacoma running 5W30.

Now that is an iron block so that will make a difference.

The other posters analysis also shows higher levels of Moly, Phosphorus & Zinc (all anti-wear additives) so the oil used as well as it being run for half the mileage yours was may have played a role as well.

I would consider it. This exhaust does sound rich and mellow when you can hear it, and I would hate to sacrifice that just to be louder. I wish I could have heard both 6" and 8" in person. Cell phone recordings are not much use, and people's accounts vary so wildly it's hard to believe they are describing the same muffler. Guys getting 10" systems and switching to 12", because 10" was too loud?? I don't understand how anyone could think that.

I'm a pretty sedate driver. Pavement only. I don't rev my engine at stoplights like a 16 year old, and I don't floor the gas pedal unless there is a very good reason. So, this 8" exhaust doesn't sound all that much different than stock, most of the time. The average person on the street will not notice me at all.

I have the 8 inch on mine and I can hear it all the time. My dogs even know when I'm coming down the street. I don't run a resonator on mine.

    I had a 12" and went to something ridiculous like a 21".

12" sounded great on the road around town as a daily driver. Horribly loud at 3k rpm at 90% calculated engine load.

We're all our own unique snowflakes.

Interesting. I may take my resonator off for a while and see how it sounds. I thought about not installing it right away, but I was more concerned about the 8" system being too loud than too quiet.

I guess you have no complaints with the dreaded drone?
