This is true. I should just be happy with two sets. My wife would kill me if I buy a third set of wheels. haha. Honestly I need four total for each season.

I got these work lights mounted up high on the tent. They were previously under the bumper. Now I can illuminate an area, like when setting up camp at night, or hitching up the trailer, etc.
Found that extrusion strut slot cover material that fills the t-slot gap and covers the wires.

Snow tires, all weathers, a set with highway tires and a set of M/T. Then you always have an excuse to keep swapping LOL

Installed new rear leaf springs, shocks and bump stops. Got General Springs HD leafs, Eibach stage 2R shocks and Wheeler bump stops. Took about 5 hours and a few cocktails after.

    Not sure at this point.
Well, that doesn’t look good does it? Yeah I know.

I was riding on this for about 2 weeks. The culprit was that when I did my brakes last year, I slapped on TOO much brake lube. The result was that it caked up, causing the pins to most likely not allow the pads to slide easily. Took a hell lot of brake cleaner to scrub all the gunk away. Driver side took about an hour, passenger took about 30 min, rears took about 45 min each.

    IMG_9346.jpg

The rears were still good, surprisingly. But I ended up just swapping everything out. New rotors for fronts and rears with new pads all around.

    IMG_9359.jpg

Now I know that once the Yellowstuff start squealing, it’s time to pick up another set. More so the fronts than the rears. The rears can probably last me twice as long as the fronts. Thin layer of lube and anti-seize on the pins will save me from more headaches in the long run.

I may need to set up an alignment check again to make sure camber hasn’t moved. Noticing some slight wear on the sides.

    IMG_9351.jpg

At least now I have peace of mind knowing what went wrong on the previous brake job.

    IMG_9352.jpg

Also swapped out the 0w-20 to 5w-30. AMSOIL will be next on the list for the next oil change.

Just how much lube did you use to cause that issue? Generally one packet per caliper is all you need.

Best place to go when public beaches are crowded on holidays. The 4x4 only section drastically cuts down on traffic.

Jealous as I never made it down there during my stent in Texas. Hoping to bring the wife and kid there when we do our next big trip. This looks like a dream day!

and my only regret with my truck is not having a 4wd for things like this. I still wouldnt care to use it, but just having it to get access to some of the country's beaches would be nice. They closed the one I went on near me that was 2wd tolerant.

Every year there's a huge beach cleanup event held by volunteers who honor a local beachcomber who passed away a few years ago. Only open to 4WD because past the "point of no return" sign, the beaches are totally unmolested - no county/state maintainers grading loose sand, nada. It's raw beach and in some sections you can get caught in high tide and unable to drive back once the tide hits the dunes. Pure coastal beauty.

That being said, the last beach cleanup brought in ~28 tons of trash. Next year will mark 30 years of these cleanups and approximately 30 miles of beach get scouted for trash.

How do you like the yellow pads with the factory oem rotors? Any noticeable performance difference?
I switched to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5-30 at my last oil change, I'm happy I made the switch.

I can vouch for the yellow stuff and OEM. I've had them on slotted rotors and it felt good, but OEM have a better bite. They are DUSTY AF though, if you're a clean rim guy just avoid em. LOL

That's a bummer man! If you are interested we build a bumper that would probably cut off most of that damaged area and save you from having to take it to the body shop.
