Tired of taking off the skid plate every oil change so ordered new RCI skids. Black Friday deal was too good to pass up the combo, which included the trans/t-case skid as well. Then I was notified of a sweet deal on the rear TRD sway bar. So it’s armored for some trails but linked for the streets LOL. IMG_2962.jpg IMG_2964.jpg IMG_2903.jpg

Addressing the headliner issue.....mine has ended up like that because of the sunshades I use. They rub on the front edge of the headliner and due to the age of our trucks, the adhesive and foam is dried out and is easily pulled down. I've glued mine back up a few times. I just recently put in a welt molding to stop it from happening again.

I finally got to put on my fender flares today, I’m really happy I painted to bolts to color match. The front ones aren’t on properly still, I don’t know if they sent me the wrong ones or I’m missing hardware, but none of the top anchor points match the actual fender. The lesson I learned from that is to spring for a well known brand, instead of gambling on a cheap set.

    9C13E3FB-3B04-43E6-AD0E-3B7606A8F2DC.jpg 7781FEBA-E85E-41AE-9699-7B60B9171DA0.jpg

With that lesson in mind, I ordered some oem window weather stripping today.

I found the long skinny console map compartment lid on eBay, can’t believe how much that little piece of plastic is haha

    50C7F4B8-1A44-40CA-9CF9-DE5731517CB6.jpg

Also replaced the fuse tap that my rear lights were hooked up with, after I discovered that my radio wouldn’t power on with it in there. All working now.

Just a note, Advance Auto Parts is closing its west coast locations, so everything in those stores is heavily discounted right now.

Little late at this point but your original map slot cover is not in the center console is it?

Yup, that is what I was getting at.

For anyone who does not know that cover slots into the underside of the lid here,

Nope it wasn’t there, a thread about that being it’s storage spot was what helped me track down the part number though

Today I installed an upgrade from my secret Santa on the forum. With his generosity as well as @memario1214's help, I received the MeSo LED map and dome light combo. Install was super quick and easy, and the light itself is very nice. Thanks again to the bbq sauce slaying and best gift giving not so secret Santa ever.

None yet but the list is growing
Took in the nice day with an oil change, rear differential gear oil change and some cleaning of the interior while waiting for things to stop dripping.

I haven’t posted much lately, but after 12 years of research , I finally completed a retrofit. My lights were garbage, so I bought new housings, morimoto mini h1 8.0, vled v50s for the high beams, vled extremes for the running lights and even got some leds for the side markers. Man, I know they are a little pricy, but the vled kits sure are nice.

I like those! I’m about wore out with getting leds for the interior and within months they start blinking and going out. Where did you find them? MeSo is the company? Thanks!

Right?!?! Me too, I've tried so many different kinds and it seems they always start to fail before a halogen ever would. I just don't get it.

Installed a set of Morimoto XB LED foglights. Man... what a difference they make. Some actual instructions in the box would have helped but otherwise these things are awesome!

Now I've got their headlights and fog lights. I can see when driving at night!

Did a few things the last couple days, pulled in my wire to and from the firewall for my afr/boost guage, waiting on a fuse tap and a couple exhaust flange gaskets to finish up.

Put in a Sequoia transfer case for the AWD ability and need to install the accompanying ECU. All beat up after the installation, so, I suggest anyone considering get a lift haha. It's rough laying down, definitely doable just have to embrace the suck. Before and after pics, driveshafts installed, just need to torque and fluid change.

Haha yeah, it's an old circular dining room rug. Been using it for years, catches flying nuts/bolts from rolling away and kept me dry as I did this on the street in front of my house.

So what year is that AWD case from? You mentioned ECU, so you have lost Hi/LO range now?
Everything else in the computer is okay with this?
PS, California trucks piss me off, too clean! Darn, must be nice to work on such clean carcass to start with.

The one I got from Ebay is from a 2012 Sequoia, all is revealed in the thread below, but in short, use a Sequoia 4x4 ECU, wire a momentary switch to that ecu in order to lock your transfer case, otherwise you'll be in 4hi free and 4lo free(awd) when rotating your selector dial and shorten rear driveshaft if not regular cab short bed.

Oh and my truck is originally from Virginia, not CA, just got lucky with the undercarriage.

I been wanting to do this for a long time. Back when the transfercases were only going for 4-600 bucks.
