We have 10 foot ceilings. The TV is also an 85", the top of it is 6 feet + from the floor. Unfortunately, the couch will have to be decently close to the TV, so we had to mount it low so you weren't looking at the moon to see it. The pictures don't do the size of the wall justice...it's a big ass wall!

You don’t, it’s ridiculous. I bought it on a whim on Black Friday, but we hadn’t moved yet so I didn’t have the measurement of the wall. I assumed we needed a big TV to fill the wall and went as big as you can go without spending a small fortune. 65” would have been fine:rofl:

BUT I did get the TV and the soundbar for $850 at Best Buy. So it was hard to resist with that price!

People tend to mount TV's way too high. Their is an entire subreddit devoted to it. I'm not sure when or why this behavior started but TV's don't need to be that high.

It’s so you can lean back in your recliner and see the TV without having to look down

FGV agree. When we were kids our parents had a TV sitting in a furniture cabinet about a foot from the floor.

We have 10’ ceilings in the Living room and ours is up way too high. It’s where Mrs Mamba wanted it. She likes it.

I was back in the crawl space today. With the cold temperatures lately, my fans that I added to help move air around was bringing in too much cool air, such that I was a was getting close to freezing. I added a temperature controller such that it shuts power off at 5 degrees C and back on at 8.5 degrees C. I also added heat wire with thermostat on the furnace/heat pump drain. I did have one pipe wrap so I did the lower section with pipe wrap also. With the last cold snap at 9 degrees and seeing a photo from 1953 where the saltwater was freezing in Seattle, I figured I want to be prepared for sub zero temperatures.

I noticed a few drops on the floor under a lot of plumbing, wtf . I found 3 drain cleanout plugs that were loose. I tightened them as much as I could, just via hand, one took several turns to get tight!

I then took off the Christmas lights off the gutters as it was sunny and warm today.

last post here on the garage project i think was in may 2023. been super busy but finally finished my dream garage and got everything moved in or purchased. except for the window blinds. those are still really sad but ordered. lol.

some before and after shots. am i doing this right?

previous owner used this single for storage and a dance studio for his daughter. gtfo here! lol.
my daughter helped paint the walls that classic garage look - least we tried.

porsche and yamaha section plus workshop and storage.

main garage was also filled with clutter until previous owner moved out. got to work immediately.
toyota motor corp section - custom shelving and cabinets plus slatwall. the wall is my favorite! 4 adult sized bikes, snow skis, scooters, yard equipment, a bed extender/moto ramp, exhaust, etc, etc and can still take more.

tip: don't sleep on carmax if you're trying to sell. they offered the most compared to local dealerships and carvana. no appointment, in and out with a check in an hour. 9/10 on the experience.

One of the favorite things we've done to our house and extremely happy with it. We've got a generac 22kw. Have done all maintenance and it's easy. Go to a napa store or similar and grab an extra filter and oil to have handy. I went to generac store to get one and they sold me a Napa Gold oil filter lol.
A friend works at a company that sells, repairs, maintains them...they said the starters are common to go out. They've replaced entire motors because they're old and needing to be replaced and they always take thr starters off if they're still good to help customers out and will give it to them, just charge labor (kinda off the books so generac don't get mad). They gave me a starter to have although mine hasn't gone out just so I can have it handy.
Mine has 200 hours on it and all I've done is change filters, plugs, oil, and battery. All over the past 7 years.
Also, if not set up, put it to do a test run during a time you'll be home to hear it. I have ours run every other week for 5 minutes on Sunday morning. I've heard of others doing it when they never hear to find out it hasn't been running. Then when they need, it doesn't work due to needing something like a battery or whatever.

Good info, thanks! Right now mine is set up to run 5 min every Saturday at noon. I signed up for their annual maintenance plan but after doing a little research on the maintenance it looks very easy so I’ll probably cancel it.

I was gonna opt for the wifi connector, but was informed I couldn't start it or turn it off remotely, so I didn't bother.
My friend told me with the way that I am with doing maintenance, there's no reason for me to have it.

I have done the maintenance on mine since it was installed in 2018. The only issue I have is in removing the rear panel to replace the spark plug there plus adjust the valves on that side.

Mine came with the wifi but so far I’m not impressed. It constantly loses signal. My router is in the room on the other side of the wall directly behind the unit so I don’t know what the problem is.
