WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST TOYOTA PICK-UP TRUCK?

Mine was very similar to this. It was a red 1992 Toyota pickup ext cab with a gutless v6 and a 5 speed manual trans. I loved that truck!

 

It's amazing how many of us that had these oldie but goodie trucks wished we never got rid of them!


I actually been on the hunt for one of these old rigs again.

nope she had a 4 speed manual in her. funny thing is we lived on a road that turned to dirt and you had to go up a slight incline and it curved somewhat. now that wonderful arkansas red clay would get slick as hell after a good rain. you had to have a great running start to make it up the hill and the curve or the tires would start spinning and then you'd see the rear of the truck in front of you.

i added two 150lbs weights over the axel and she would stay planted and you could just nearly idle up the hill without issue.

 

1997 T-100(red), 5 speed manual! My favorite. Funny how it’s always the first one that we love the most..
Bought Certified Used in 1998 for $21,000, with 18k on her. Sold her in 2009 with 178k for $7,500. Miss that girl!

 

1st Toyota truck for me was a new 89' 2wd RCSB.

Dave Winner of Fabtech prerunner'd it for me back when he was on Cypress st., when RaceCo Off-road was still around.

 

1988 Xtra Cab V6 4x4 pickup. 5 speed manual. Bone Stock. Red. Loved that truck. Crashed it like a dumbass kid.

 

Mine was a 1983 SR5 short bed 4x4, 31x10.50 Micky Thompson Baja Belted on chrome spoke wheels. The BEST looking tire EVER !

 

Started the game late. Wish I was wiser when I was younger.

1998 Tacoma 4WD with manual transmission ... replaced with a 2001 Tundra automatic when I started towing a boat.

 

Growing up in the 80's I always dreamed of owning one of the SR5 xtra cabs. It took me until January of 2008 and I finally got a beautiful blue Tundra. Sold her in August of 2018 for my current MGM Tundra Sport. Couldn't be happier!

89 regular cab 4x4. Drove it for almost 2 years with expired tags & no title. The world was a different place back then.

 

I just love looking at pics of all these old trucks.. Makes me think back to simpler times. Here is my beloved 85 xtracab with EFI and, of course, a solid axle.

89 22re 5sp stripped I bought brand new for $6k. It came with a bench seat, no radio, no air, no rear bumper, no pass side door mirror. I was modding as soon as I was driving. I had Downey suspension and absolutely hammered that truck. OG quicksand but they called it tan

 

2012 Tacoma 4x4 DCLB

 

First vehicle all together. Lots of memories in it. Still have it but it needs to go now with 01 tundra around. Been sitting at least 4 months. Felt it was too slow to do very much with (4cyl). Needed that v8 power.

 

First time I ever ordered a new truck!

1999 ordered the 2000 Tundra SR5 TRD Ext. Cab in Black.

Never bought a black truck again since I’m OCD on cleaning my trucks it drove me crazy on how dirty to me the truck looked. Lol

 

My REAL "BOSS" still has her 1999 Tacoma Xtra-Cab SR5 2.7L 4 cylinder BFGs 32's, American Racing black rims, 2" Cornfed suspension lift.


We won't get rid of the old girl and get asked all the time if we would sell it. Not a chance!

Just my honest opinion, the old ones are mules, they just keep going and going with nothing more than simple oil changes.

My current one. I was a GM fan for many years but after being a mechanic and seeing their decline in overall reliability, I made the switch.

'88 4Runner. Looked like this one, without the lift. Still miss it.

 

Not a truck but this was my first vehicle.
91 4Runner with that horrible 3.slow V6. Mechanically the worst vehicle I've ever owned but also one of my favorites. The windows were so black that I couldn't see at night when trying to back up. I put flowmasters on it and thought I was hot shit.

 

This is almost exactly what mine looked like, except I vaguely remember it possibly being maroonish... That V6 was gutless, but that truck would go anywhere...

 

My first was a 2004 Tacoma SR5 Prerunner Doublecab. I absolutely loved that truck. Bought it right after it rolled off the truck with 3 miles on it.

 

I had a 87 5 speed basic truck.

yes sir it was a hunting machine. It was perfect for the woods!!!

 

I bought this 89 base model single cab 20 years ago when I was a senior in high school. I have since done some restoration work and turned it into a non street legal rock crawler. I have loved it since I bought it and would only sell it if I was offered stupid money for it.
