Me again. I'm thinking of going Bilstein 6112 top setting with a CB shim drivers side in the future. If you're gonna add a shim, is it best (or required) to order the shocks unassembled?

Doesn't matter, the shim will go on top of the strut.

Bumping this. Looking at potentially needing UCAs. SPC, JBA, Bilstein, thoughts? Has anyone had a bad experience with any of them? If so what was it? I know I want to stay away from uniballs since this is mostly road driven and I live where it snows and they do lay salt.

I had the Bilstein (made by Dirt Kings apparently)on my previous truck. It was lifted 3" on passenger side, 3.5" on driver side. Alignment and all was perfect for the 14,000 before the truck was totaled.
I bought another pair for my new truck, for when I get the suspension/lift.

FYI, the Dirt Kings version is generally less expensive. However, Rock Auto sells the Bilstein for even less.

Are you running them? If so how have they been? I've heard a ton of horror stories about the SPCs as I've looked around.

I've never heard anything good about Total Chaos other than they are strong. Seems like everyone complains about the noise, and that they need to be rebuilt 20-40k in. I'm looking for little maintenance, salt/bad weather durability, generally OEM style performance. I'll take a look at camburg and dirt king, what separates them from the pack?

The question why do you think you need control arms? Do you have a lift etc? Oem style performance then I would stay away from mentioned. They all require some up keep and it’s very minimal honestly but not oem. Lube bushings and spray ptfe on the ball joints. Maintained correctly they don’t make noise or have issues.

Second set, had them previously on a 4runner and had the ones on my Tundra for a couple of years now, never had an issue.

Doing a 2.5" lift. I'm ok with maintenance so long as it actually makes parts last and makes them squeak free. I've read of far too many people doing just that and yet their UCAs still have major problems. One of my buddies has Total Chaos UCAs on his Tacoma and they're super noisy despite him doing 3k maintenance. We have long winters and there's salt on the road which complicates things. I just don't want to be swapping out bushing and balljoints every other year.

Nice. How many miles have you put on them with the Tundra? Really looking for durability when maintained.

Never had an issue with my total chaos before. Interesting.

My Fabtech uppers have around 50k miles on them. Zero issues. I apply lubricant to them after every wash.

You guys have any experience with ICON UCAs? A friend of a friend can apparently get me a deal on them but I haven't seen them mentioned much for the Tundra/Sequoia.

What shocks are those? I didn't know there were front coilovers with a reservoir Bilstein.
