Black is also the only color with a color matching windshield pillar. That’s the only color I’d get in the new ones. I asked before, but has anyone ripped that vinyl off yet?

Yeah it comes off. I know this because it was failing very early in some in the group and they took it all off.

I’m not talking about the quality of it. Imho it looks goofy & would make any other color than black look way better without it.

Some have taken it off. It's just body color underneath, not sure what else you're looking for about it then.

I haven’t seen anyone that’s taken it off. Do you have an example?

oh gotcha. yeah there's one on the FB page but finding that platinum grille took more effort than I care to admit. I'll post if someone else does it. it was on a red platinum. I prefer the black look but the vinyl use was a cheap out.

It is indeed the Toyota tonneau. It folds all the way up and had foam blocks that rest on the C pillars. There's a "kickstand" on each side that slots into the bracket on the underside. I'm assuming they intentionally kept that dimension so the brake light isn't obstructed. There's another ~6" panel at the front of the bed that is isn't foldable.

So an SR DC in the color I want showed up within a reasonable distance. Ideally, I'd like an SR5 CM but try and find one. I don't really need the extra rear seat room or the power. I'm really thinking seriously about pulling the trigger. So, what do y'all think? Bird in the hand syndrome or what?

Sure thing, here's a couple more pictures of it if you're curious. It can also clip down flat if you'd rather drive with it that way.

It does, which I'm not super fond of. I'm definitely not planning to drive around with it flipped up very often.

It does. It's like the MX4. That's one thing I liked about my underscover on my 21 Tundra was it was propped up by the rods and not touching the cab,.

I must say with the very large foam pieces there (between the cover and cab) their shouldn’t be any damage to the cab/paint itself unless one were driving around like this normally and the foam fell off for some reason causing abrasion and such.

On my 2015 I had the MX4…I had it in this up position at least once per week on ~30 min trips and didn’t incur any damage to cab/paint…and that foam was thinner than this one…so I elected for this similar design from Toyota on my 22.

The rods keep tension on the cover so there is no ‘free play’ and anything impacting the cover of itself (runaway 2x4, plywood, etc) shouldn’t cause overall movement…maybe impact damage to the panel and absorption by the foam pieces and serve the function of a normal headache bar.

I had the dealer add this and the skid plate into my deal at their cost, excited for it, but curious - how easy is it to remove the cover for when you want to haul loads etc? I load up the bed and use a gladiator cargo net when we go camping, and obviously don't want to have zero visibility out my back window for longer drives, so, how is it to remove?

No. Close to same height. Looks small in pix. You really have to see in person. Looks massive in my garage, bigger than my 2018.

This has to be made in the same factory as Bakflip or may even be their cover with OEM badging. It's nearly identical to my MX4 on my 2019

    Yes…there was a post a little while
Back that explained that this is made by Rev who also a production partner with Bak industries (Bakflip).
Rev makes the OEM branded stuff and Bak makes the Bakflip stuff

Anyone got any pics of a 1794 with the saddle tan/brown interior? I am considering a 1794 in Army Green and I think the color combo would go really well together. Haven't been able to find any on dealer's web pages so not sure how common they are. Also I have two questions for those who own their trucks:
-For the rear seats heated/ventilated functions, can you turn those on from the touch screen, or do you physically have to press the buttons in the back on the rear of the center console? I ask because my dogs like to be warm and would be nice to be able to turn them on from the touch screen but no biggy if I can't.
-I want the HUD from the one package on the 1794, but I also want the rear locker and the crawl control stuff offered by the off road package. Unfortunately it seems you can't have both packages. Is this just an error on Toyota's website, or is it really one or the other? Would love to have both really.
