It's a night and day difference with the throttle mapping from 14 on up. Yuge difference. My 07 blasted off the line stock. Tow Haul was stupid crazy. My 14 is a dog compared my 07. Not any more:thumbsup:

Drive an 07 and then compare the throttle mapping to your 18. A great comparison. I mentioned earlier that I really think it had absolutely noting to do with CARB at all. The throttle mapping from 07 to 13 was simply quite touchy for many folks. I got used to it and liked it but you could easily throw a passengers head back with barely touching the pedal. It was really that sensitive.

I'm going to check out the Hike It X9 too. Not quite identical to the iDrive. Has more modes than the iDrive and also has the disable function. No discount but I have a 30 day window to return it or the iDrive.

HikeIt X9 has 6 driving modes and 36 mode settings vs 4 driving modes and 20 mode settings with the iDrive. I went ahead and cancelled my IDrive order. @Squatting Pigeon is going to review the iDrive and I'll review the HikeIt X9. Folks will want the Pedal Commander for the blue tooth feature so we might as well use this thread for all three types out there. Edit...at least 4 types out there

    "The X9 has More Modes
The X9 Smart Pedal introduces an additional 2 driving modes over the competition with 36 driver levels."

A 4th entry. 5 driving modes and 27 mode settings. Chipset unknown. Only 2 year warranty vs Lifetime for iDrive and HikeIt X9. Both have 32 bit chipsets.

There is a replacement pedal assembly available, p/n in my build that helps smooth out the jumpiness.
I did get a pedal commander prior which did help with the jumpiness.

That's great. The price point is pretty good compared to the Pedal Commander. Mine should be delivered tomorrow but there will be another possible snow issue.

Well I was only able to test it on an 8 mile round trip in rush hour yesterday, so I can’t give you a full on review yet
I’ll be putting a little more than 100 miles on the truck today so I can share more thoughts and opinions this evening.

No I have never had or used a pedal commander, but I’ve had my eye on iDrive for a few years now.

The iDrive and Hikeit are certainly two good options to consider if you don't need blue tooth. My Hikeit X9 is scheduled for delivery today. Very similar to the iDrive with some minor differences. Example...the display has an auto dimming light sensor for night driving and "auto learn" mode. Probably won't install it right away. Driving up to Boulder every day this week. You have the iDrive discount to take advantage of and there currently is a $30 off discount on the X5 & X9 going on right now. I agree. I have my set at City zero and I still spin the tires on occasion. Usually when the wife is in the truck because she mentions it. On a recent trip over 500 miles, I averaged 14.6 mph?? I am too old to remember what I was getting before the PC. I tried the ECO setting and felt just like you. I am thinking about adding one to the wife's highlander because I can feel the delay when I drive her car.

Review...Hikeit X9 was a 10 minute install. Default was Sport Mode level 9. Holy sh**t! I tore up my gravel driveway just backing up to the street. Pulled out to the street and easily chirped my tires and they are Patagonia M/T's! I dropped it down to level 5 and was still kick ass. 5 seconds after switching into any driving mode, if you hit "mode" on the fly..... it goes into "Hikeit" mode which is Ludicrous throttle response! It's easy to change driving modes on the fly and the other two buttons on the front panel are up/down to change any of the 9 sub driving mode levels on the fly. I already activated the anti theft throttle lock. You get the following modes with 9 levels: SP Sport, CO Cruise, EC-4X4/Economy, Hike It racing, AU Auto IQ, Off Original Vehicle, and Jump into Over take! You can select Auto or Manual transmission. I already mentioned the Ambient Light Sensor previously. Keep in mind....this doesn't increase HP! It gives you command over your throttle mapping back, that Yota took away, to take advantage of your 381 HP+. These various throttle controllers are a no brainer. My 14 is alive. If you have a 07 to 13 with the sensitive throttle......take command of your ECU throttle mapping. You won't regret it! BTW....you don't need bluetooth. It's so easy to switch driving modes and sub levels on the fly. My 6 year old grandson could do it. P Commander, although good, isn't worth the extra $100+ for bluetooth IMHO. 20210420_174846.jpg
I'm a lefty so I mounted the control panel on the left.

"SP.6.A" is Sport mode, level 6, A for auto tranny for example. Easy peasy to change..........

Question for those using a Throttle Control:

We often tow a trailer with horses, and a nice, smooth start from a stop is helpful to keep the horses calm. I’ve found the factory throttle a bit too unpredictable when trying for a smooth launch. Would one of these controllers have a setting to help get us off-the-line nice n’ easy without too much thought? Would an “Eco” mode achieve this?
