Did I read they held back a bunch of trucks at port prior to recall issuance? Were months prior to June much lower?

My guess is most of the people buying the 2024's have no idea of this trucks issues and are buying them due to the deep discounts and Toyotas reputation for reliability.

I met a 2022 3rd gen owner this morning at the office and asked him what he thought about the recall. He had no idea it existed.

Sometimes driving around town the deep buried thoughts about getting nice aftermarket wheels come to the surface. I come here to get rid of those.

Looks like a non hybrid. You can see the battery tie down and cable coming off the battery.

May was even higher at 15,303. This entire year has been pretty good. Here's a link to the monthly totals. https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/toyota-tundra-sales-figures/

This is accurate. Some coworkers were excited about getting the new tundra. Others in the meeting started asking about the engine issues and recalls. Ones that bought the new tundra in the past year had no idea about the engine issue’s and recalls. Let’s just say the looks on their faces you could feel the anger. Another person spoke up and said the engine light just came on in the past week.

That is interesting, what about the 90 percent of Tundra owners who have no issues. Drive their trucks daily and have nothing to report. What about them? I would imagine that Toyota's failure rates are on par or much less than the offerings from the Big 3.

    Well make that 2.5, lol

Comment was regarding buyers lack of knowledge when purchasing a vehicle. Many just assume buying a tundra means they should have a great vehicle for 10+ years. That isn’t the case anymore with Toyota and especially this 3.4TT vehicle.

Right now, that Big 3 is laughing at Toyota and the tundra.

Total engine failure rates likely exceeding 1% for 22-23 Yr models is completely bonkers, IMO. Cracked seat bases; crappy door seals, it goes on and on with this truck. I could trade my Tacoma into one TODAY for 9K off sticker at my local dealer--would be a hell of a lot better for towing my boat--but I cant bring myself to do it with all the issues.

Sure you could, well I haven't had all those issues so you shouldn't let that stop you. You sound more like a social media influencer than an actual buyer. Those issues only affect a small percentage of the overall Tundra production. I have one and have not had any of those issues.

Some of the guided bombs we sent to Ukraine are being pulled back because the Russian hackers cracked their guidance systems in 2 minutes. The DOD is 10x more security proactive than state governments or the average company. So the voting machines are guaranteed 100% secure until they are hacked in spectacular fashion. Then the secretary of state and their vendor swear allegiance to making the system they swore was secure really secure. How they roll
