...and what if it's just like cutting a hole in a condom?

    Who's gonna pay child support!?

Tape over it, if noise disappears just fill the gap with a clear silicone. You can always just pick it out. Oddly enough I have any wind noise. 1794 with tow mirrors

There is no gap, it's an extra little rubber tab on the seal. Have a look at yours next time your out, appears to be a water break as mentioned above.

The whistling is from the mirrors on the two friction pads on the inside where they pivot. Fold your mirrors in and out and tape over those pads. I used clear hockey tape. Whistling is completely gone in my truck

You seem mad enough to cut the little rubber tab off and let us know if it works. It has to be the culprit.

Funny, I purchased my 2021 used, and recently folded my mirrors to squeeze it into garage, (another story) I then noticed a foreign piece either tape as u described, almost cloth like velcro. It was obviously placed there by previous owner, now I know why. Interesting.

My truck has really annoying wind noise above 50mph in the top corner of the drivers side window. I can push on the seal and it goes away but as soon I take the pressure off the seal the wind noise is right back. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the seals but it didn’t change a thing. Is there any homegrown solutions since Toyota doesn’t seem to care?

My recent 2023 build is dead nuts silent inside

it seems much better quality and put together than the early 2022 I test drove, the seals look much better

I also noticed the door is slightly inlaid into a pillar , the other one wasn’t

I’m guessing Toyota has been tweaking the builds over the last year or so

the tailgate closes like a vault with a super solid snap and super tight , never had one that good

No the tape covers the tiny lips of those black flaps. My noise has not come back since I taped those edges up

Limited+ gets acoustic-glass windshield, the higher trims have acoustic-glass side windows as well.

that’s lame anyways , the noise is not coming from the glass lol

my guess is after test driving the early 22 and then now just getting the 23, i think they improved the install and quality of the seals and move the door in a touch so it’s slightly tucked behind the a pillar

    just my worthless .02

Any chance you can provide pictures of what you're talking about so I can compare? My seals look fine...I'm wondering if yours are in fact upgraded. Also this inlaid pillar.

awesome, build quality seems spot on , I’m kinda shocked actually, it’s much better than the early 22 tested , even the little slide out tray is much firmer spring , no rattles and shuts right .

not a single rattle or sqeak ,no wind noise , dead nuts quiet. The quietest truck I’ve ever owned

especially with that stupid ass fake engine noise turned off, also tweaked the ac knob temp with Carista , that’s 50 bucks well spent !!

Im going to make a build thread , you’ll like this fully color matched platinum , looks sweet

Congrats!!! The part I bolded above. Did you lower the compressor temp or something? I know a lot of people complain about the AC temp being poor or the fan speed being low even on high. Did tweaking the AC knob help with this?

it seemed to make the system operate more like my 16 as far as cold and force at a given temp , just my quick observation, I moved it to -2

    I'll update this post..

I just did a stretch of highway at 70 and 80 mph using two calibrated decibel meters. At 70 mph, I was getting 63 dB at my ear. At 80mph, the meters showed 66 and 67 dB. That's roughly twice as loud at 80 mph vs 70, but still relatively quiet. My '19 4Runner was 74 dB at 70 mph.
