Hello! I'm a new 1st gen Tundra owner as I just bought an 05 Tundra today! Leading up to buying it, I've been doing a lot of research and forum digging on common issues and whatnot. A common problem I saw was the "strawberry milkshake of death" caused from coolant and trans fluid mixing. When I was looking the truck over, after looking at the frame (spotless), I noticed around the radiator cap was a little bit of hard, dry, crusty coolant. The coolant in the reservoir and radiator doesn't seem to be cloudy to me and I tried to capture that in the photos. I'm either paranoid, dumb, or both but either way, I would love a second opinion on what you guys think this is from. Thanks!

That's totally normal. Coolant crystalizes after evaporation.

Looks fine to me. The pink milkshake on our trucks is possible but not extremely common. Even less common if you replace an old radiator.

Post some pictures of your new truck and congrats.

toyota uses pink coolant, so you won't see the neon green color if that is what you were expecting.

    x2 on this.

Clearly that truck was NOT living in the rust belt at any point. All fasteners in the front look clean as a whistle.

+1 looks normal for Toyota coolant. Appears your radiator cap may be leaking a bit - I’d replace. The place to look for milkshake is in the transmission fluid. That’s where it does the damage.

That's wild! Normally rust belt trucks will have rust on clamps and fasteners in the engine bay. And rust inside the hood latch, etc. Looks good, considering.
