2023 Tundra V6, Twin turbo,,,, started out at 20/21 mpg based on dashboard....has been gradually decreasing. Now with just over 6k miles my total avg mpg from the dashboard is 15.7....last fill-up was hand calculated at 15.6 mpg. I'm in North Florida with minor rolling hills. I drive on cruise. For the most part speed limit in Tallahassee is 45mph and I drive 55. Out of town speed limits are 55 and I drive 65...85 on an occasional I-10 run of 4 miles. Gas mileage is not what I expected...my 2017 F-150 Lariat with 8 foot bed gave me 16.5 under the same conditions ..Any comments, clues, or suggestions? I have a case number assigned by Toyota in Houston.

Dozens of threads on this already

It's most likely just your driving though and the mpg on the screen has been learning your habits the more you drive it.

Cruise kills. Going more than 60-65 kills. Start stop kills.

I get better than that in my 2020 with big tires. Much better.

Interesting your experience is almost exactly opposite of mine. Started in the 15's and now getting 17-19 and sometimes 20'ish. My drives are nearly the same as they've always been. The only things that have changed are my driving habits, not using cruise, transmission recall(not sure this would impact), different gas(winter vs summer), and break in period.

When towing an 8k trailer into a 30mph headwind. Don't forget that

@op....wonder what the gas mileage would look like if you respected the speed limit more.

The odd part is that it's decreasing, usually mileage will increase slightly after break-in. Maybe brakes dragging, stuck caliper?

I’ve never once looked at mpg…I also drive in sport mode all the time. Have fun with it or go get a Prius.

    2 post and disappointed already.
Probley wasting your time with a case @ Toyota so soon.......dealer will plug into it most likely tell you everything is normal.
    Tire pressure/ alignment
    Ac on
Using oil weight other than 0w20
    Oil Over filled
    E85
    15% ethanol
    Head wind/tail wind
Don't compare with a Ford thats alot lighter vs even the current Tundra steel/alum half breed.
My 2018f150 failure unladen weight was 4757 vs my reliable Tundra is 5592.
835 lbs plus of reliability and trailer towing stability.
Obviously I bought a Toyota for reliability not mpg's. You most likely are focused on mpg and will never match a lighter vehicle as you past truck.

Another guy buys a $70,000 truck and is worried about $2000 in gas to run it.

Math problem not a truck problem.

I noticed when I changed the gas mileage read out on the dash from overall mileage to per trip mileage I got a better idea of what I was getting per trip. Each trip being different based on were I was going and highway or city driving.

    Florida = A/C ON

    AC kills gas mileage.

EPA fuel economy number does not include AC.

Is your rear differential acting up? Mine is needing to be replaced under warranty, and I have seen a drop in mpg, not as bad at yours, but it’s noticeable.
